My brother in law was interested in the 999r on there. I have texted him to check this thread out and wait to see what the outcome is before going any further. Hate dishonesty.
I've never dealt with them but I believe others have on here with no issues. Saying that, they have not changed the eBay advert to say not a factory paint job yet......
Cheers Rob,much appreciated. BTW Is it ever gonna stop bloody raining so you can get out on your new R !!!!!!
I'm sick of waiting Tony. I'm selling the R to buy this...........I'll get more use out of it in this weather.
Aghhhhh ! I can still feel the pain, I had a Yamaha jet ski and managed to snap my leg using it. The ski hit a wave and stopped mid turn throwing me over the side BUT my foot caught in the footwell and I broke my fib ,and tib ,my heel ,dislocated the ankle and tore my tendons, two weeks in the royal Victoria hospital pins and plates , eight months off work with no money coming in ....... Grrrr
I've just had a wee think about this and its probably not far off the mark. I've been down the road on most of my bikes. I've not binned my 1098R but the previous owner did. When I sold my 999R a couple of punters turned up expecting it to be split mint straight out of a climate controlled glass show case. It was 5 years old and I'd ridden it. And crashed it of course.
Kin ell. That would destroy me..... I love track days but always (try to) factor in a safety margin to my riding capability in order to avoid a story like this. Ouch!
I think if 90% of bikes had been crashed, getting insurance would be impossible in this country. A bit like in the late 80's / early 90's where a £20k Sierra Cosworth would cost £20k to insure as it was almost guaranteed to be stolen. There's no way I could insure a £20k Panigale for £200 if the meerkats thought they'd be £19,800 down on the deal. I must have had 30 bikes and have thrown one down the road, so I offset you I think. Most people I know have a similar record. If you've been down the road on most of your bikes, maybe motorcycling isn't for you Mary
I fell off several times in my teens on an LC, last time I had an off was 1982 on my z1 at 18 years old
Point taken. But there are crashes and (fuck off) crashes. The former are the most common (in my case) and fettled without insurance involvement.
Ok. It's finished. Jem Speed Shop pocketed £120, Trading Standards are looking into the matter, but realistically they cannot vet every incorrect advert, but at least it is logged for the next person to complain to them. I lost money, but avoided the bike. I can now move on to searching for a bike again. Thanks again to everyone for their support and advice.
