Just an update really. Yesterday got out on the bike for a ride that lasted around 40 minutes. Had it on Sports mode for the first time and also a little bit on Race mode. Conditions were still not perfect and tyres are still unworn so difficult to gauge anything just yet but some brilliance is starting to shine through. CAme back, gave the bike a really good wash and wax. It was the first one and I always feel that the bike really feels yours after the first wash. I am also about to order the bike tower from Germany to help with maintenance etc. While we wait for some decent weather, I want to know a little more about the setting you guys use and why as that will be the next thing n my list when weather permits. Im going to see if there is a thread already and if not, post one.
U mean power settings or suspension? Glad you enjoyed it a bit more yesterday, my 899 can feel a little stiff and awkward in the cold and damp but it all soon comes together as soon as there is any warmth in the roads
Suspension settings is where it is at. Here's the plan, first i have to run the bloody thing in. Some decent swift road riding will follow. A silverstone trackday and a proper fettle with suspension the rest can wait. The past 4 bikes I have owned have been set up on track by someone who knows what they are doing. And everytime it completely changed the bike for the good. Also dialled in some settings for general road use as part of the exercise. With the S, hopefully I can now give this a go myself. I'll feck about with the rest of the settings also but suspension for me maketh a good bike. I love the throttle response of Race, but will dial back in a few fail safes until we are at one.
