Exactly that For most averaged sized dealers, 2 bikes a week isn't great considering it's a brand new bike and they've only just got demos I expect the 899 moved out the dealers a lot more quickly initially
Well when they launched the 899 they were giving termi exhausts away as it was in time for the December promotion, I suspect they would be shifting loads of 959's if they were doing the promotion but they were too late getting it into dealers
My local dealer is quoting April Build dates for them now, so does this indicate they aren't selling too well? Either way my Girlfriend wants one, even with that exhaust. £13,231 OTR
If she like it that's all that counts and if we all listen to the journalists we would all be riding the same bike!
I went in DL around September looking for an 899 new or used but fortunately didn't have any so he took my details and said you'd get back to me in the week after he's had a look around, as you know it's January now and I'm still waiting for a phone call, good job I sorted myself out
I wouldn't read too much into build dates for the UK. Our market is fickle at the best of times and the "season" has got later and later with most new bikes selling around May time. I do agree that Ducati are unlikely to get caught with their pants down like they were with the Scrambler and the 899. If they had made more for the UK allocation they would certainly have sold. Andy
Bad luck Phil, I'm here to stay. Calling someone 'horrific' just because I failed to say hello is out of order. We havent phoned anyone about the 959 yet as we havent run the demo bike in. I'll let Nick know you've now bought an 899.
Tbf, I've been in probably 5-6 times and you never bother to acknowledge your customers! Everyone else is fine, I'm the customer and entitled to my opinion. I suggest u leave it there as you are dangerously close to loosing the service business and possibly that of my two friends, one of which wanted to get your full monty service done on his 748r.... Seriously, I can't believe you have come on to a forum to say that you are justified in not extending your customers the common courtesy of a hello! If u read my posts I have repeatedly commented that I have heard good things about your dealership as a whole.
Phil, you just need to remember we read the forums too. I'm not trying to justify anything and do try to say hello to everyone that walks in so I'm not sure whats gone wrong, maybe I was busy and concentrating on something else, maybe, just maybe, it was around the time my 11 day old daughter had meningitis last year. However I sold 216 bikes last year without a single complaint, then someone who hasnt actually bought from me calls me 'horrific' on a public website, I'm going to defend myself. I dont know who you are or what you do I but I work very hard at selling people 'Pride of joys', not motorcycles, not even just a Ducati. An object that they truely love owning and have no regreats over buying. I wouldn't dream of slagging off someone I didnt know on a public forum related to their livelyhood so I take offense when my name appears on a public website and I'm called horrific! I understand people buy from people and you may just not like me or my no nonsense say it straight approach, thats fine, I get that. But you could have written something less offensive. Come back to snells or don't come back, we're a family here and will always offer the best service we can. I might even say hello next time!
Oh heck! I think if this was a restaurant Nick/Bryan whoever might be adding that special ingredient to your food next time you were in. At the end of the day everyone's entitled to their opinion and at the same time everyone is entitled to defend themselves if need be.:smileys:
There's some valid points in there for sure, and please accept my apologies for naming u, I actually forgot I had (a misjudgment). So yes, I apologise and I guess must have caught you at bad times. I'm not into forum slander and like I said I do here lots of good things about the dealership so I'll remove my comments and hopefully it's a clean slate. Anyway, that's probably enough of us going on! Back on topic, when anyone who has ridden an 899 rides a 959 can they look out to see if Ducati have fixed the only thing I hate about mine, the vague feeling rear end and they fact that the shock 'locks out' over fast bumps. I'm getting mine rebuilt next week but interested to know if the 959 is the same. It's really the only gripe! Also would be interested to know if the gearing has a negative effect on the road because I already think the 899 is geared a little long and I hear the 959 is longer (probably for noise and fuel economy, or because the bottom end is better so can run taller gears).
Think of it as constructive criticism, we have always actively promoted this. Every cloud has a silver lining.
What are you apologising to this guy for. You've gone into a dealer, no one's welcomed you in, and you've left details and heard nothing back This isn't an invitation only Ferrari, this is a mass produced bike that you can buy in any number of outlets, who'll all be trying to outdo each other Personally, I feel that by coming on here and defending himself in such an aggressive manner, makes him look a twonk I'm not in that area, but if I was, I would certainly not be going to see him to buy a bike If I'm spending £14k with the guy, I want to feel valued and that they'd bend over backwards for me Not telling the guy how to do his job, as as he's stated able, he sold shed loads of bikes, but welcoming in everyone and following up leads goes a long way to securing a sale no matter what you're selling
Hmm, I guess I'm just trying to drawer a line under it. I do feel it was an aggressive retort and I do feel like I've given it enough chances when I've been in there but just want this thread to get back on topic and move on. I'll go elsewhere with my money, he will continue to sell bikes and receive 'no complaints' and we will all live happily ever after. I suggest we just move on....
No point continuing a handbags at dawn. I come across a 959 forum and it looks like the Americans are starting to get deliveries. Suppose they are first in the queue
