  2. Well the bike has just over 10k miles uk bike.
Totally standard although it used to have termis and the fairing lowers fitted (since sold) grrrr.
    I am the 3rd owner.
I will fit some pipes in feb, I do like the look of the Keihin or a pair of termis if they come up.
Later in the year as funds allow I want to fit some gold forged wheels for the lightness and looks.
That will pretty much put the bike where I want it to be.

Re Paul Smart because I was racing a lot at the time I needed a new engine for the race bike and I had at the time several bikes, so I made the most stupid decision of selling the Ps. I actually made money on the sale but not what the are now.
When i started looking for a new bike It had to be the red 1000s, the PS was great but I wanted red. The PS does come with better suspension as standard though, which I would like.
A few years a go I had a Bimota DB2 which has the Ducati 900ss engine fitted I added some Keihin 41mm flat slides and then added some marvic forged wheels and wow what a bike. the most exciting bike I have owned, downside was I needed to lay on a flat board for a week to get my back back in to shape.

With these Sport classics I find them so comfy on a long journey, they have great engines with just the right amount of power ( not silly 180bhp) for the road. And when I had the smarty all I though it ever needed was some better wheels as I like a quick steering bike and as standard the wheels are to heavy unless you like just driving in a straight line.

Do you guys in the uk ever meet up for a sunday blast I am based in the south, so if any ones fancies a hearty breakfast one day let me know.

    Ciao

  3. I found that lighter wheels made quite a difference to my GT1000. I'm running 5-spoke Marchesinis & they allowed me to ditch the inner tubes. There's a reasonable choice of lighter wheels, depending on your budget. Carozzeria make some nice-looking wheels & I think some Sport Classic owners in the US have fitted them. Have a look at the Ducati.ms site & you should be able to find a number of options/ideas. You may find a vendor who still sells Termis if you decide to go down that route.

I have Termis on my bike, but I also like the look of the Keihan & the Staintune silencers.

  4. I have Kineo wheels which were fitted by the previous owner but at two grand I would have found it to expensive to fit myself.
I find the handling fantastic and you feel you have ridden the bike as opposed to feeling the bike is to much for the road of the 150+ bhp bikes. Try looking for forks from the monster range as a fairly cheap upgrade ( look up info on Ducati.ms ) I've also just bought a shido lithium battery which I had to set a brick on top of in the workshop in case it floats away lol. Also think about upgrading your steering damper.

  8. Hi
I am looking seriously at the Keihins as I do like the polished stainless look, should I buy a performance ECU or is there a more economical way to improve the fuelling.

  9. Bugger I'm keeping my bike now.
Re the keihins , my bike is fitted with the wasp power up kit which incorporates a power commander but you can dyno and reprogram the standard ecu. Chris on this forum can give you advice and could probably reprogram with a set up that's near there. However for best results dyno time and set up to suit each cylinder is best. Mine is as smooth as you could possibly get and the power delivery is seamless.

  10. Good, these cable terminals took ages and are a work of art befitting the bike ;) diagrams soon for final measure up :upyeah:

  11. The original Termi kit came with Ducati Performance ECU and a modified airbox lid, this was already fitted to my bike by the previous owner. I'm not sure you can still source the DP ECU anymore, even though the Termis may still be available.

Whichever pipes you choose, you can have the ECU flashed. It may be worth contacting someone such as Nelly at Cornerspeed Ducati (Kirkby in Ashfield) or CJS in Bristol - One of them may be able to reflash your OEM ECU if you send it to him.

  12. As you've seen above exige is working on a kit to help the starter turn over. Enquire through him.

  13. With very bendy and funny shaped terminals to fit the existing battery box with no cutting of plastic / existing cables or changes to routing like the US kit :D
It has been troublesome  but getting there :D

  15. Great looking bike - I've got a Sport Classic but the naked biposta in red. I'm having to sell as I bought the new Norton Dominator SS and the missus says I have to choose (between bikes - not her or bikes). Sad times but I'd love for my bike to go to a good home as it is in perfect nick and a brilliant ride.

  16. Well get some pics up here of both bikes.

  17. Hi idrinkbeer

I am seriously looking at the keihin exhaust for my sc, I know you have them Are you pleased with em, quality and performance.
Cost wise it's pretty fair £810 Inc delivery full system.

Can get the ducati termis silencers only for around 1000 but I like the polished look.

Also have to find someone who can reflash my ecu at a reasonable cost to eliminate the O2 sensor.
My question really is if you had to buy something new would you buy them again.

  18. Here are some of the Duc.

  19. Hi yes I like the termi but you can't get the polished items any where.
Aella make some in titanium but time I get them in from the states it's 2500 to 3000 pounds.
    Unless you know different .
