Hi All, Would like to ask for your feedback in general and with the above dealer. Anyone bought a bike form them? How friendly/negotiable are they? I feel the price of the bike is slightly negotiable. Do main dealers negotiate on price? Or is it better to negotiate goodies like leather jacket/gloves, helmets or DP stuff etc... Reason is, that ill be travelling from the midlands, so dont want to waste a whole day to go and see a bike and they wont budge on price or its not spot on etc.. Hard enough to get a few hours off work let alone a whole day. Im only considering it because it has a Full Race Akra on it, but the Ex Demo is making me hesitate. Ive read up on here, some people say ex demo is fine others wouldnt touch em. Really; i dont know if its all worth spending a day in glasgow finding out... Secondly, If anyone knows; would a main dealer such as these guys be willing to send the bike down to a dealer nearer me? Rather then me go all the way to glasgow? Is this alot to ask? This is my first interaction with a main dealer as ive always bought my bikes from private sellers in the past and i dont know whats reasonable to ask. If im going to spend the better part of almost 20K, im hoping for a bit of service/expedience from the other party. If anyone had the patience to give me their 2 cents it would be great, Thanks Gents and Ladies.
Can't speak for Glasgow but yes, main dealers will negotiate! Normally a little more towards the end of the month in my experience!
No personal experience but in my twelve years of Ducati ownership and fellowship, I have never heard a bad word about Martin at DG. I cannot help but feel you'll be well looked after there. Ask them what you want, you'll get a fair response.
bought two.one second hand one new. didn't ask for a deal. had the odd issue with the second hand one but was dealt with properly. i really cant fault them. v.helpful. good craic.
Thanks for that guys, El Toro, i did see that post but thanks for showing it to me. Im glad that feedback is positive. Phil i will keep that tip in mind. Calling them in the next fortnight. Fingers crossed, i can truly join the Red club. No offense to all all the non-red non conformist "special" ones....
Why not just give them a call now and have a chat? The bike may be sold in fortnight and then you have to start the search again.
As others have said, give them a call. They will not waste your time and are extremely helpful. I think they'll be more than straight with you about whether there is wiggle room on the bike or not.
I ordered some bits off them a few years back and service was excellent Give them a call and speak to them about the bikes You could always meet @finm while your that way
I bought an ex demo from riders, never saw it and they never saw my part exchange, but I was honest with the description ,they were honest, they delivered the bike and everything was hassle free.
I put a deposit on a bike that neither Martin (Ducati Glasgow) or myself had ever seen. Agreed a price based on description. If I wasn't happy when I saw it in the flesh, deposit would be returned and he'd advertise in usual way. No need, bike was immaculate as described. I couldn't argue price as we'd agreed it on spec but I felt happy with the deal I got.
I bought 2 bikes from them. First one was second hand and came with 1 year manufacturers warranty even though it was 4 years old. Second bike was new. They negotiated a little on the new bike because I was trading and were completely up front about what they would put the tradein on their showroom for. I find them really friendly and helpful people. I get all my servicing done there even though there's a place in Edinburgh which is a lot closer. What more can I say.
I have to say, of all of the dealer reviews I've ever read on here I have never heard anything bad about them.
Great feedback guys thanks. I actually was planning to call them but they are not open on Monday, so today will have a chat. Finm: Cracked me up when i read your post. Thanks for the reassurance everyone. Ill make sure the dealer know how well hes serviced us ducati folk and how highly we think of him, and this can be improved greatly with a 40% discount on DP parts. Lets say the Akras... Ill throw that in as part of the negotiation.. Dont worry ladies and gents ill look after all of you. :sunglasses::sunglasses:
