What tyre pressure do u set the rear at ? I run at 42 and have always worn out th scorps at 3.5 and pr3/4 at 6k.
Had a 20mph sliding fall on black ice two nights ago around 3:30am. About a mile from home on a back lane through a village. The crash-bars on my f800gs socked up the damage as did a tiny section of the side stand. I was so tired after doing a maximum 15hour hgv-driving shift that it took me a few minutes to gather the strength to haul my bike vertical. As it kept on sliding down the road & was mentally draining me, a slow but steady off-loading of my trucking gear in ortlieb' dry-bags made man handling the bike up, easier. Now this doubly makes me ponder over the dodgy crash-bars design of the newly announced Multistrada-enduro. As when I upload a few images tomorrow whilst I'm thinking about it. That they are not actually designed to help mitigate damage as they fucking well should be! Anyhow only a bit of pride was damaged & zero sense was knocked into me, look out for more grotesque moaning about crash-bars coming soon.
Not got a clue. I haven't touched them since I set them to manufacturer psi when I had the tyres fit. I'm more of jump on and ride kind of guy unless it's a track day (assuming they're not flat as a pancake that is). I have always been a smooth rider on corner exit though.
I haven't got a car as the wife has it so I always commute by bike unless I can blag a lift from someone or cycle (that option has gone with 50 mile commute now instead of 12) ........ No real ice so far but its a plus side of living near the coast as it tends to keep temps up a degree or 2 but tonight it is forecast below zero so careful in the dark tomorrow at 0700
It was a bit nippy this morning but not too bad, certainly not cold enough to be painful! Also, this happened...!
Mutley is being rested. Train and Brompton this morn. If anyone is braving it; be interested to hear how you get on!
I'm out today to fit new boots on the gixxer swapping the s20 bridgestone's for the more touring version BT T30 evo's , excellent tyre and should warm up quicker than the s20's live life and ride
There was no ice on my route to work this morning, the roads were almost perfectly dry I feel like a fraud driving to work today but at least I'll finally be able to transport some junk I've at the office for the past six months back to my house
BMW tourer thingy, hi-viz vest & white helmet, his sense of smugness is likely to be keeping him warm.. On a serious note, rated... I'm in the car again today, more of a well salted road thing than a cold thing..
