Seems quite ironic really. When you look at American cars they are a nation who seem quite happy with automotive ugliness and they'd probably not think anything of a couple of cannons hanging there, but instead they get the more desired under slung set up!
More ironic, that THEY are the major carbon polluters, and they get the more polluting version to carry on doing just that ! Surely it should be the small countries that can get away with a little more polluting ! Barstuards :rage:
soooo.... could you run a standard 959 in california? I always thought they were uber strict with emissions these days?
Yes they worry about the emissions, its the noise they are not bothered about hence the Euro spec having the quieter exhaust and sound deadening
I went to the nec ,to specifically see the 959, I'm sure it will be a great bike but thought the exhausts spoiled the looks of it, that why I went down the 899 route, I suppose I aught to thank them as it saved me a few quid
Even after DM have tried to dress it up still looks dog poo and what's with the reflectors on the forks?
All new bikes must have side reflectors on or near f/forks. The new Gixer thou has easy removable ones that are held on by a screw/bolt.
Strange isn't it, you can go out and buy a bike that can blast you up to 180mph but now it must have side reflectors as its dangerous. Seriously though, i do get the side on safety issue. Surely someone like Ducati could have come up with something a little better than sticking them on the front forks? If they were stylishly integrated into the fairing that may look a whole lot better and not have folks simply peel them off.
Agree. There isn't a whole lot of "design" that has gone into this. You (I) would have expected more of Ducati.
I like the shotgun Akropovics, I'm kinda over it now, although of course I prefer the under belly pipes. My actual gripe though is the fact they get in the way of my heel when I sit on it, and I imagine in bike boots it would be worse!
There would be very few people who actually want side reflectors, so Ducati have done the right thing and made them easily removable. Yes I know side-on visibility is important, but I don't want a crappy orange reflector integrated into my fairings! Give me the peel off fork reflectors any day if they have to come on new bikes.
