  1. nothing

    abselutely nothing! :)
Just wanted to say i have 2 left hands, am a bit of a clutz, and so haven't done anything on the bike myself....
Much to my frustration, i ve had to have everything done by others...

i have great admiration for those who can maintain/upgrade their bikes themselves...
for me, screwing in a lightbulb is quit a victory... :)

  7. LOL. Pretty much

  8. While we on spending far too much money of 999R's heres a pic or two of mine and the list of mods, 04 model.

    RS frame conversion
    Prepped fork
Rear shock from a RS (Supposedly from Gregorio Lavilla's bike), whatever it's a lovely thing and lots machined from billet.
    57mm system with Titanium can
Engine stock apart from mapping. 155bhp and quick enough for most tracks
Billet Bembo MC's with flip up levers, wonderful brakes when mixed with nice hot SC1's or 2's
    Slipper clutch
Rear sets, nothing too posh but do the job
DP front sub frame (looks like it was welded by a blind man with no arms, but its light enough)
Clip ons, machined from billet and wider.
    Foam seat, higher.
    Full CM composit fairing.
749R tank and DP screw filler.

Probably some other bits and bobs.

Makes a nice track bike and has been totally reliable.

  12. Well guys... the 999 is back on the bench... it will be transformed to a tracking wet / spare / silent bike just so i'm sure i'll Always be able to ride without to many issues... as some ttrackdays involve extensive trips, nu use getting there and then lining the wall all day.. so coming up is : carbon race headfairing - racingheadframe - Magnesium Marvics - :) glad the old girl will still be able to spread her legs... :)

  13.

  14. Pretty sure you meant stretch her legs, kope ... but we all get into biking for different reasons :upyeah:

  16. The bike is omazing very well done sir! I'm glad you've posted the pics up with the fairings off as i wasn't sure on what color hoses to go for on my 1098 as i thought blue would like a bit gash but in fact it looks great. you should contact PB magazine I'm sure you'd get at least a double page for it.

  17. Yaeh, but they'd probably want to ride it.

    shudder.

  18. :) which is to be avoided ... :) opted for a PZ gps laptimer to fit the dash.. ..

  19. go for carbon BST wheels
they are a thing of beauty and make a huge difference in acceleration. stopping and cornering.

id also junk the ohlins steering damper
even on minimum it is way to stiff and look naff. id go for an italian matris m4r reactive. they look beautiful and work much better

  20. Hi,

I wouldn't junk the Ohlins damper, just have her revalved, mine works just fine and is more than upto the job with the suspension dialled in. I can't help but notice you went 16.5" on the "big girl" would you be going the same way with this one? Tyres are going to be a problem at some point as development has already stopped.... I've just slotted Dymag 7 spoke mag into mine and the rear was 4.25 kg lighter than the stock brembo/marchesini and the front was 2 kg's lighter ( although I have used Nissin kit discs which has surely helped)
