Finally a dry-ish day today. Did a 150mile tour around the Cotswolds on my triumph in the morning, and as the roads were drying out, I got out on my Ducati for a couple of hours in the afternoon I'm smitten with the bike so far, certainly, and my nine year old likes to sit on it with my helmet on too [/QUOTE]
Fitted the Oberon Pegs today. Difficult to tell how much better than the standard ones are by sitting on the bike in my garage in Vans, as it's pissing it down outside, and I don't fancy taking on the roads today - Especially as I've got the hangover of the gods too. They look grippier though, if that counts Old and new ; Fitted to the bike ; Managed to get the blood off it too, where I sliced my finger tapping the pin back in. ffs !
The internet's a dangerous thing, and I have always had a draw to all things carbon, so the impulse buying' started I bought and fitted some heal guards, although I'm not yet convinced I prefer them over the original Aluminium ones Also, last week I borrowed a new demo Honda Africa Twin in view of replacing my ageing Triumph Tiger Think it'll sit quite nicely alongside my 899 Anyone else had a ride of one yet ? It's quite an impressive machine and certainly hides it relative low power output well (97bhp iirc) with a decent lump of midrange torque Think I'll probably order a red one though
Which heel guards did you go for Graeme? I initially had some cheapo ebay specials but hated the way they flexed and I re-fitted the originals. I ended up splashing out on a set of genuine Panigale R guards which are far stiffer, but even these do flex a little.
They're from a company called 'power bronze' They're pretty stiff, but not sure I like the look of them
Powerbronze stuff is pretty good. Have you got any more carbon bits? They might look a bit odd on their own, but combined with a rear hugger and exhaust guard (and engine covers and subframe covers and etc etc...) it all starts to work. Just make sure you keep to the same weave and finish otherwise the carbon police will be after you. :tearsofjoy:
Spent an hour this morning fitting an EvoTech Tail Tidy It was pretty fiddly, but easy enough to do Despite taping the drill and pilot holes, I still managed to crack the plate making the fixing holes. Might get a slightly smaller one this time, as the tail tidy just makes the plate look massive Seems quite a shallow angle though ;
They were a bit too flexi for my big feet, and I was worried they were going to hit and scratch the swim arm, so they lasted all of 1 x 20 min ride before taking them off and refitting the normal ones Also, the lacquer around the carbon lifted a small amount around the bolt hole, which isn't the end of the world, but would bother me If anyone wants to offer me a tenner for them, they're theirs
