899 Tank Decal

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by PTT, Nov 15, 2015.

  1. Hi, pretty much the only thing bugging me about my new 899 is that the tank decals have been scratched. The paint underneath looks ok. Is this something I can get from Ducati or another source? Anyone tried removing/replacing them?

    Thanks

  2. Decals are available from you local Ducati dealer and they are not expensive. Not sure if the decals are lacquered over but if not the light application of heat from a hair dryer on the lowest setting will help lift them away. Andy

  3. Changed my tank decal to white,as said order from a Ducati dealer and fit yourself.

  4. Instagram Not lacquered so just whip em off with a scalpel.

  5. That's great! I'll order them now. Thanks everyone.

  6. I have the decals (£20 quid for two stickers is expensive in my book but not in Ducati's I guess). Has anyone tried to protect them after fitting? Is there anything like lacquering that can be done?

  7. How about venture shield protection Pete? I guess you could always take the bike to a spray shop and ask them to lacquer it, but the venture shield is a well-proven method of keeping everything looking new. I really should get some myself...

  8. I have thought hard about venture shield but I have struggled to find anyone local to me (Rugby) who sounds competent enough to apply it. I am not going to do it myself.

  9. I am now considering having all the paintwork on the bike lacquered. I have spoken with a paint shop - the only caveat is that they are concerned about the stickers reacting with the lacquer. I believe the 1199/1299 has lacquer over the stickers. Can anyone tell me if this is definitely the case and what lacquer/process should be used?
