What are their backgrounds? Is one of them an ex racer or something? BVG, watching his vids has a business which I don't think is bike related. I don't really mind them. Lucky buggers
Do they do the Akra's in carbon, think that would help, take the eye away from them? Or even just a single stubby would be better than those bazookas on the side of it.
Fagan was a writer/tester for Fast Bikes magazine for quite a few years and he does compete in the Tri-options cup. I think BVG was just a chap who started 'vlogging' and has managed to build himself a decent fan base. He has a Youtube video called 'trial by twitter' or something along those lines where he basically says that as he becomes more popular he needs to be careful with what he says and how he comes across and that will inevitably change the way he makes his video and probably piss off those who preferred his initial offerings. Personally I like their stuff and the way they don't take themselves too seriously.
I'm looking forward to seeing the options from other manufacturers like Leovinci, Arrow etc! We all know what Austin Racings will look like, some drainpipe stuck on the side (sorry not a fan)!
faggott oops Fagan is not one bit funny seems to have a cocky attitude and bvg ffs, wtf you doing ducati giving these two clowns a959 the bikes gonna be hard enough to sell to start with.
Since BvG bought an 899 for himself I'm sure they probably think he'd be good at voicing the differences from a road riding perspective. I couldn't care less if they don't really sell though, it keeps the value of my 899 up! [emoji1]
They will sell went to Ducati coventry yesterday to have a closer look ,looks bigger front end compared to the 1299 ? starting to grow on me hoping to get a test ride soon with coventry or the new ducati nottingham shop proof is in the pudding
I like BVG myself, always liked the fact it's not too serious and he seems genuinely happy to be doing it even before he started to make a name for himself. I doubt he is under any illusion that everyone will like his style but fair play to him. Wish it was me but I have the charisma of a plank so not gonna happen.
I looked at the 959 yesterday. Did you notice if the pillion pegs can be removed? I'm sure they are connected to the pipes. Do the akra come with a bracket to enable the pillion pegs to be removed. I should have asked the dealer, but kind of forgot, doh
I thought Leo Vince very nearly went to the wall 18 months ago. Just checked their UK web site and they are still only offering a decat pipe and baffle (sic) for the 2010-2013 bikes. You might find the market isn't big enough for them to recupe the costs associated with design and manufacturing. Andy
The Akra are still connected to the pillion pegs unfortunately, so you're gonna be stuck with those also!
Agreed yes, I know JHS were importing them. However I also heard the same about arrow at one stage and managed to buy my pipes for the 848 seriously cheap because the importer was getting out!
Clapped eyes on MotoRapido's Demo today. In white with the Akros, a few other bits of carbon on it. I liked it, I did not dislike the exhaust its a good looking bike in the white with red wheels. It will be interesting to see what the other manufactures come up with when the have to produce an EU emissions and noise compliant bike next year.
