  1. Hello all,

Just come back to riding after an 8 year hiatus. Being a big v-twin fan and after years of deliberation and longing, I've finally taken the plunge and I'm now the very proud owner of my first Ducati. She currently sat in the kitchen, next to log burner keeping warm ready for the first dry day of the year.

I'd be very keen to hear from guys, or gals that would be interested in sharing transport costs for track days etc - Van hire, fuel, hotel etc. I'd love to do Rockingham and Silverstone this year.

Any info for regular bike meets would be great too.

    Thanks Max

  4. @Old rider... Lol. Is it that obvious? Nope I'm not, hence when the wind blows I kite surf and when it's not, I'm on the bike. I'll take that over the 'ball n chain' any day. Although I'm hoping the Termis will loosen a bit of knicker elastic here n there.

  7. Hello from Morzine, Dave :)

  8. Yup, it really is that obvious.

Are you born and bred from that area or are you one of them furriners??

  9. Welcome to the forum. I've always wondered when the kite ends up in the water how do you get it flying again?

  10. Inflatable leading edge, I believe...

  11. Hello & welcome

  12. No way there's a Panigale in Hayle! I'm heading down from London in the morning to see my Dad as I grew up there. Unfortunately in this case not on the Pani but I'm coming on an S1000RR so not so bad haha! I'll message you and maybe we can meet up this week for a cuppa? Otherwise if there's anything I can do to help just ask.

  13. Gotta love those Philps pasties.
May be down that way on Friday and grab one for myself.
Are those mad yanks still there??

  14. I've not been around much for a few years, it's changed a lot for the better mostly I think. Philips pasties rule for sure. Shame you were not down earlier than Friday mate, we're planning a ride up the north coast a39 road and back that day so will not be in town.

  17. Welcome mate, glad to see its red!!
Dont listen to the others Naarrghh, theres nowt wrong with furriners!!

  18. Furriners...? No idea? ;0

I'm actually from the North West moved here with work about two years ago. Great place in spring, summer and early autumn but god awful in the depths of winter. I kid you not, it's rained everyday since November 2015 and was the same in 2013.

A bit of advice for anyone thinking about a trip down to Cornwall on the bikes... I wont deny, it's got some very good roads for motorcycling, but not many! A handful at most. Nearly all the roads down here are as narrow as a smartie tube, lined with 12 foot high hedgerows, littered with farm/agricultural access points, covered in mud and generally in pretty bad condition. In summer the German coaches have been known to close roads entirely through sheer numbers and/or getting stuck on bends.

If anyone would like Google map links to some of the good roads, pm me and send em over. Other than that, it's a lovely place.

  19. Hayle bike night at the McDonalds on the A30 round-a-bout every Tuesday, though maybe a bit quiet this time of year. Then from April every first Thursday of the month till October is DOC meet at The Hawkins Arms in Zelah. In autumn/winter the DOC meet is at The Green Parrot in Perranporth every first Sunday of the month, next one is this Sunday.

I'm pretty sure we've both got all the same routes marked out as good ride outs taking in scenery and a couple of good pubs for pit stops :upyeah:

  20. Thanks Jester. If it's not raining I may head over to Perran this Sunday, chances are slim though. The rain has been relentless this winter.

I'm hearing the run past Culdroze down towards Coverack is a good'n. One of the few roads in Cornwall with visabilty round/through the bend and wide open vistas across Garras and Goonhilly.
