Is there a defintion of a race bike ? I only ask because I have based my track bike on a 748RS although I am not nor do I aspire to be a racer. Not sure how long it would be before someone lumped me if I were put in the fast group. On a lighter not, do you know if the numbers at Brands will be limited ? Trying to accomodate the 300 odd riders that attended Silverstone in 2014 at Brands will make it a nightmare for the less experienced rider. Thanks, Andy
Race bike defined as having a rider with an ACU licence. Brands limited to 33 riders in each of 3 groups, ACU licence holders, fast and novice/intermediate. Looks like it is not going to be a day for the faint hearted. By the way, Wendy is a very nice lady. Andy
Tempting actually. Birthday is earlier that month so I may drop a few hints. I'd be strictly aiming for that novice/inter group and turning up on a multi though. No ACU license, spinning it up out of clearways heroics for me [emoji106]
I think you need to ask MSV that question. Brands is always more expensive compared to other tracks of similar size and has been for years. Not sure but I hink whoever you are, MSV insist that you hire their marshals as well as using their medical facilities. Andy
So tempted to take the Multi to Brands but I'd be devastated if I dropped it or got wiped out (especially as I have a Zx7r track bike for those reasons!) but soooo wanna test the Multi on track, it seems so capable!
I'm in Spa just after the Silverstone one so that's out but should be at at least one of the others depending on what work turns up.
I can't remember what it is now but it does say on the California Superbike School website I believe. Something like a grand but they only charge for what they need to pay for. They are good reasonable people so I trust them no problem. I took a Monster 1200S out in 2014 as I had problems with my first Panigale and the engine blew after two laps! Came back in and they gave me another one and I had an absolute blast.
it says....You can hire the following Ducati bikes (per day): 1299 Panigale for £365.00 or a 959 Panigale for £285.00 or a Monster 1200S for £265.00 (including fuel and tyre usage). Crash damage options: Pay a non-refundable £85 and reduce the maximum payable to £150 or alternatively a £1200 returnable damage deposit. However, if you drop the bike and just break a lever then we'd only charge you for that part. Don't drop it and you get your whole deposit back. - See more at: California Superbike School UK: Hire Bikes
