I've been into P&H at Crawley today for some bolts for my heat shield on the 848 - having now seen the 959 Pani in the metal, it doesn't look so bad. Granted, it's not as pretty as the 899, but the exhaust wouldn't put me off buying one
Test ride tomoz on the 959 weather permitting , looking forward to it, just to listen to the stock exhaust and see if i can get my head round the looks
Post up how you get on. I've been offered a demo bike, but was going to wait until the weather improved, so I had some dry roads to test it on. Saying that, the forecast for tomorrow is decent
I will post up with video and close ups + sound with stock cans , and hopefully the weather will be good , forecast does look favourable
I don't think anyone could tell the difference between 899/959 in winter weather , 7bhp more 7kg heavier so that's the same, 4mm lower pivot , think unless your called rossi u aint gonna notice, 899 with termis much better buy , 899 owners must love the 959 ,, saw it again today and the pipes don't get any better,
The under carriage belly pipe is a future classic. Pipes have been hanging around like a dogs hind leg because someone learned there was a bi product of fossil fuel combustion. The problem with the 899, it's outdated.
The regulations are the same for all companies. Could be worse, you could have spent £15-18k on a new R1 that now needs a complete new gearbox.
they aint gonna sell on looks for starters and lets face it that's their main selling point, it certainly isn't reliability or price,
yep is getting done under warranty, my first s1000 rr this year whent pop got a new one, reliability is crap these days, inc ducati, just have to look at posts on here sticking throttles etc electronics, but that's the way with new bikes now, actually pleased at the moment I'm on an old gsxr 1000 nail with nothing on it , put the key in it works, the good old days.
I can't say that I've heard of more than a few issues to be honest so I'm not sure where this reliability chat is coming from, is there a bunch that haven't been brought up on here (I know not all Panigale owners are on here though...)? I know that the throttle sticking issue was serious on one or two bikes and there have been little electrical gremlins for people but my impression is that overall the quality and reliability is much better than in previous bikes? Even companies renowned for reliability get issues from time to time like Toyota's mass recall for brakes, so I wouldn't say that overall Ducati are having massive reliability problems.
Agreed, unbelievably the Internet is a wash with people going to find solutions to problems while there are unbelievably many out there who don't have a single issue. There will always be Friday bikes, and even before Burndownthediscos had his issue he had done circa 4K faultless miles through all conditions.. Maybe we should all come on a post the 'my bike didn't break today' thread so that we see a balance ;-) Btw... My mates brand new fireblade has broke 4 times in 500 miles... I no longer need to see a man eat his own head, because I've seen a Honda breakdown, which means I've seen everything ;-)
really?? a would look back mate my 1199 was in about 10 times , but there not the only bikes to have faults but I would say there loads ,know loads have faults q/shifters , electronics , dashes , shocks, forks, paintwork, etc etc etc but there old topics
I'm sure that there were faults all over the place but at the same time, how many are they compared to the 2200+ bikes registered? The same thing happens with select Honda cars, Honda bikes, Audi, BMW, etc. but they don't have the bad reliability reputation. I think the percentage was probably very low for the Panigale models overall and as shit as your experience was, I don't think you can use that as the whole basis for your argument is what I'm saying.
not saying that dan, faults all over I know different manufactures, just I know loads on ducati, but to be fair back up was good as was bmw ,
Fuck the faults and the exhaust, the thing is gorgeous to ride just come back from a test ride and i love it , then again i love bikes, but the ducati is special . Everybike has recalls and issues if you look hard enough you will find disgruntled owners, but you can also find happy owners , we are a country of negatives and not positives i'm now a positive person and make my own mind up and fuck the rest I am just downloading a video of my test ride and MY thoughts(not anybody else's thoughts ) on the 959 panigale
