Expect the worst but hope for the best. With three points already on the licence it could be down to how the judge feels. Its not a nice situation, so my thoughts do go out to you both. Cross fingers
Top tip from 'one who learnt the hard way', when it comes to filling in the financial statement don't make it look like a fine won't have a financial impact i.e. Make yourself look as skint as possible. I got done for 93 and because the financial penalty is fixed at x the magistrate said that a fine of x would have no impact on me so have me a two week ban. That said if your missus can manage without the motor for a while a ban ain't that bad especially 2 weeks as it had absolutely no impact on my insurance.
Always best to get a copper pull you over rather than send the summons in the post. They're a lot more lenient road side. My mate and I were riding on the A12 a few years back, I was doing 130 behind him when I noticed an unmarked Volvo behind me. Sure enough he turned his lights on and pulled alongside as I slowed down. All he did was gesture for me to slow down and then he shot off up the road after my mate (who hadn't seen what was happening and had reached about 160 at this point) and did the same to him.
Absolutely not. This was a few years back now. He was on an R1 and oblivious, I was fresh on a zx6r and bricking it the moment his lights came on. He just pulled along the side of me (now doing a very sedate 70) and did the 'slow down' gesture with his arm (copper passenger as I was now in the LH lane) and then went zooming off to do the same to my mate. Was a pretty empty part of the A12, maybe he was just a genuinely decent copper who saw we were only being a danger to ourselves. No idea really but just glad it ended the way it did. I'd only had my licence a little over a year at that point and was certain I'd lost it the moment he turned the blues on.

I was pulled by a bike cops I was on my way to the cooks town road races, I pulled over and removed helmet expecting worst, he said there is a time and place for speed and this was it but for me to check mirrors as I hadn't seen him and with that he sped off, pew.
