Counting down the days till i can get out on track!! This will be my first year at doing a few. Only done 1 x 20 min taster session on my 899 which i nursed round oulton park and then a full day at oulton last july hiring a MV 675 and got the bug. i've now been a bought myself a trusty old 97 steel frame honda cbr 600 track bike what track days have people booked up to now this year? What will you be riding? Currently booked for anglesey on the 15th april, oulton on the 29th june and 12th july. will be booking a few more and hopefully got silverstone and donny in there.
None booked yet this year but planning at least 1 per month on my KTM RC8. Looking at Cadwell, Donington with Oulton & Snett if I can get DB reduced.
I've got a day booked at Llandow with Southwestbikers. I know its only a cart track but its a taster really. Its a social as much as anything. Quite a few of the people going I've met already on rideouts so it'll be pretty informal and a bit of fun. Good opportunity to get the idea, learn the basic ropes and see what I need before I dive in and buy a track bike and start booking days on my own. I'm taking the Ducati but it may be too much for that little circuit so I'm taking the KTM as well.
Anglesey 15th/16th April. Plan was to ride the hyper 1100 evo SP on the 15th in novice group and then my 1299 in the inters on the 16th... But no doubt will swap around on both days to compare the 2. Silverstone 16th June. Probs just take the 1299.
Only thing i don't like about the "novice" track days is the fact that cars are at the same track day.... When i was at one the amount of oil spills over the garage floors from the old battered cars wasn't the best thing to see before heading out on track
Just followed the link above. Cars as well, but not on track at the same time. I've never seen that before. Will look out for that before booking with MSV in future. Cheers.
Less track time for your money and I'm genuinely shocked that MSV are milking an unsuspecting public who would never think to check that a novice bike day would be anything else than just bikes. Bloody scandalous. Andy
