Been very impulsive today and bought a Multistrada Pikes Peak. I was wondering about Panniers and a Satnav. Is it best to get the dealer to fit them? Any suggestions would be welcome. Looking forward to a pretty big leap in performance from my old DRZ!
If this bike you have bought is a new DVT bike, did you not bother to compare the specs and the prices of Multistrada versions? And did you not notice that the current Pikes Peak has a lower specification for a higher price? And is thus an obvious rip-off?
Pete, you need to add a footnote :- oh, and by the way welcome :Hilarious: Good that you found the Forum Richard
Nice day shopping then . You are going to love your multi they are a fantastic bike. I bought a drz this winter it's a great little bike. Oh and welcome to the forum.
Can't decide whether to stay up and watch "there will be blood" on BBC two at 11:15 or not, anyone care to recommend it?
Crikey indeed! I like your style though! So is it the brand new bike with the manual Ohlins? Be interested to see what you think. Anyway, re panniers and a Sat Nav....Meh! The panniers will ruin the look of the bike. Just strap on a Waterproof duffle (I used the BMW Luggage roll 2) when you need to tour. Other than that some rok-straps have always allowed me to carry anything I needed to on the rear rack. Re Sat Nav - I like Tom Tom but use it on an iPhone. Much easier to upgrade that way. By all means get a decent iphone mount. I find the RAM mounts to be good. Welcome to the forum. It's very useful and seems like a (mostly!) decent bunch of people!
Thanks everyone for your friendly welcomes. And thanks for the tips about the Tomtom on IPhone and luggage - I'll take a look at those. Regarding the due diligence and research thing, I'm sure your right. Having felt the crushing depreciation of Ducatis a few times in the past, buying any new one doesn't make sense. I had a f##k it moment and to be fair it feels pretty good. Plus it was nice and shiny. Actually the only thing I'm a little worried about is the tank range, how far do you guys get on them?
[QUOTE="Richard Hamshire, post: 711811, member: 34730" I had a f##k it moment and to be fair it feels pretty good. [/QUOTE] Good for you. We sometimes lose sight of the fact there is FUN to be had. Hope you enjoy every second of it! Welcome!
Hi and welcome to the forum, just fitted a Tom Tom sat nav myself. Simply wired across the battery and mounted the screen on a ram mount on the left hand bar. Be careful when fixing it as it has little room and will clash with the dash when on full right lock. Blue tooth to my schuberth C3 lid and the jobs a good 'un. Deffo go for luggage, it make so much sense when touring, but not so much when filtering! Also luggage liners are convenient way of keeping your stuff dry and transporting it into your accommodation. Bought mine from a forum member here. Help.. (and money!) with all this can be found with the helpful staff of Ducati Manchester ( Sale, Cheshire!) I've just ordered a full on bells and whistles termignoni system from them. Like what papa Noel said "enjoy"
Oh and where abouts in sunny Manchester are you? Will keep an eye open and a nod at the ready when tootling around the hamlet!
good on you bud, wish i had the money to make that same choice but i don't begrudge you for doing it. As you've just dropped a hefty sum of money on a Pikes peak i wouldn't worry about tank range, its largely irrelevant as the gauge won't work
