Agv Corsa

  1. looking at these and wondering if anyone here has experience of them. I was tempted by the Pista but the lack of air vent controls (rubber bungs ) but me off.
I like the idea of the bigger visor and they also do the electric tinting visor.
    So anyone got one??

  2. Ive got the Pista. I have had Showas other AGVs and a Shubert and vents on helmets make little difference that I can tell. The best was the Schubert I used my Pista through last summer and never got a sweaty head. Never took the bungs out. The helmet stays rock steady on the head at any speed and any position. I am afraid where helmets are concerned it's each to his own

  3. Ps I meant shoei

  4. That's the other thing no matter what position your head is you can see clearly out of the visor. First helmet that the jacket or one piece collar hasn't pushed the back of the helmet up

  5. It's the rubber bungs that put me off the Pista. Just seems like a bit of a faff.
I have a 802r carbon at the moment. Great helmet! The electric visor tinting appeals to me. AGV helmets usually fit my head shape very well. How do you find it noise wise? My 802 is ok, I wear ear plugs most of the time except when commuting.

  6. I've got a corsa it's a great helmet, in the winter you need to close all of the vents as the airflow is so good you get a cold head, In the summer it's great. The visor steams up a little in the cold unless you use the pin lock insert provided, and get a spare for a dark visor.
I've also got the LCD electric tint visor, it's about a 10 - 15% tint when it's not tinted so not great in the dark or heavy rain, when it's tinted it's about a 50% tint so not that dark either.
Wind noise is quite loud, about the same as an older Arai, I always wear earplugs, the lining a around the ears is generous and dose not press at all.

  7. How do you rate the lcd visor? Worth it?

  8. To be honest I would'nt buy another, just because it's not that dark when it's switched on and not that light when it's switched off.

  9. Forgot my x lite Ago rep. Noise is about the same again I wear earplugs so doesn't matter that much
Out of all the helmets I have worn the only one that is noticeably quiet is the Schubert

  10. I've got a agv corsa but haven't used it yet on the bike.

From my brief spell of wearing it around the house it seems ok. Little awkward when brushing my teeth but apart from that it's nice.

  11. Got both a Corsa and a Pista, so I can comment on both...

Corsa - very nice hat. Same as the Pista only fractionally heavier and has the closing vents up top. No complaints.

Pista - the one I wanted when I bought the Corsa but was windy about the vent arrangement and they never had the colour I wanted. Eventually caved in and bought the Pista in the Gran Premio Italia colours having realised that I never close the top vents on the Corsa. Even nicer hat.

Both very comfy and the cut / visibility is unsurpassed. I have never found a hat with better vertical field of vision, and honestly would recommend either. Fit & finish is probably better on a high-end Arai / Shoei TBH but nothing has worn excessively or dropped off and it seems to suit my head well.

Bought a race visor and occasionally (long trips) even faff about with tear-offs, both are worth the investment. Interested to read about the LCD visor, was contemplating that but think I'll pass after reading the "neither light or dark enough" comment. Thanks for that! :)

If the cost is too high then consider the K3 SV, I'd say Pista is 10/10, Corsa is 9/10 and K3 SV is 7/10. For most normal use the K3 SV is a more than respectable titfer.

    Like AGV very much.

  12. I've got a Corsa in Rossi "Mugello Turtle" colours. It's pretty nice and I don't think you'd be unhappy with it. To be honest though, my best helmet is my old Arai RX7-RR!

  13. Great reply mate! I do love the look of the Pista. The vents are the only thing that puts me off. Interesting what you say about keeping the top vents open anyway. I can't remember the last time I closed the vents on my 802r. The pista/corsa is meant to flow a lot better tho and it's not as warm up here in Scotland!

  14. Agree with Fire
fully concur with this, i have the Pista GP and its the best lid ive ever owned (for all the above reasons), bit pricey but well worth it if you can scrape together the few extra beans

  15. A few of us were having this chat at the excel on Friday. We'd each given up X-Lite helmets for AGV ones and were regretting it. The Pistas springs keep breaking (known issue), the other AGV's don't have anti fog that works as well as the X-Lite. My AGV squeaks when I open/close my mouth. Just bloody annoying in every way. We all agreed we'll be back to X-Lite next.

  17. I will admit defeat on their designs. Simply the best!

  18. I love me x-lite 802r carbon but it's nice to have options. I think I'm gonna go for the AGV corsa Guy Martin. Can't decide on the lcd visor tho.

  19. I can't say I've experienced those issues myself. I do agree that an Arai has a "hewn from granite" feel to it that AGV don't quite achieve, but if my own hat was breaking then I'd be onto AGV and asking about warranty or goodwill work. The RRP on a Corsa or Pista GP places them firmly in the "premium" bracket and although being engineered to be light might mean that the non-safety-critical parts are designed to remove mass I'd still expect a level of durability.

The hand-made nature of these high-end AGV might mean that there are more variances than you'd get with a robot-built carbon turban but you should expect price and quality to align.
