Greeting to all :sunglasses: This is my first post following the recent purchase of my 2010 1198 :smiley: I want to fit a tail tidy but have read of issues with tail tidys not sitting low enough to clear the Akrapovic cans and as such rubbing the indicator stalks. Has anyone with Akrapovic cans on the 1198 had any success? The evotech one looks good but I think fouls? Any input appreciated. Andy
I got akra cans ... mine looks ok but i think the previous owner cut down the original number plate bracket, looks ok thought tbh ... cant tell its been cut down when the number plate is on
It's true, I'll post pix of mine later and how I did it. Just need a few washers from memory to drop the tail tidy lower.
I wanted to avoid that if possible so I could return it to its standard condition when I sell it. I was looking for those pics, glad you found the thread. I can measure today if you like, will have to take a walk to the garage just after lunch. I think i may have added more washers so the indicators don't touch, or left it as it is and they haven't melted. I'll confirm later.
That's the one, we are all waiting eagerly until the end of the month to get one. I'm a bit snowed under at the moment mate, will head down to the garage around 6pm then report back.

Paypal & all major credit cards right out of the gate. My payment processor also accepts bitcoin, apple pay, android pay and a few others but nobody has really asked about those so not pushing to hard to get them integrated just yet. I'd also like to point out that you can get 6 months interest free financing with paypal if you open a card with them and purchase something over $99USD. Not sure if this is a USA only deal, hopefully you guys can get in on it too. I am looking into selling them on amazon as well so Amazon Prime users can cash in on the 6 month interest free financing that Amazon offers on orders over i think $150USD. (I use this all the time for big purchases on amazon myself, they also offer 1 year and 2 year interest free deals on even bigger purchases like TVs) Just make sure you pay off the balance before the 6 months is up so they cant charge you the interest!!! Works out to about $15USD per month if you stretch the lights out over the 6 month period.
Finally! The washers equate to about 30mm, and the indicators do touch the pipes, but there is no visible burning on them - upload image online They have been like this for ages (since that last thread actually) so all is fine like this.
I'm not sure if the 1098/1198 have this but I refitted the steel plate from the original bracket before fitting the R&G tail tidy on my 848. Gives a few mm extra clearance:
