New (to Me) Duke - 1098r

I just bought some R&G under fairing protectors from eBay for 70quid brand new. Seemed like a good price.

You could ask the seller but I'd be sure they will fit.

No, the ones I got are "under fairing" that do not need the fairings drilled.

 

So how do they work then? Sounds like a parachute that opens on impact! How do they protect the fairing if they're under it?

 

They don't. Sacrifice the fairing to protect the important gubbins underneath.

Hmmm.... I'm in the middle of rebuilding my bike after a few goodies and a face lift (The bike, not me). I really can't decide whether to re fit the R&G crash protection. The bike will have a cleaner look without it for sure. And I'll never be convinced frame mounted bungs are great... Oh, the decisions we have to face... Absolute torture!
