  1. Is that just crawling along the floor of the local school hall?

  2. Exactly how do they administer the agric raw materials speculation illegal, surely it has to be bought and sold in a free market place( how much coca is grown locally anyway.?)

  3. Went to a birthday party for a Super Light. uploadfromtaptalk1455984507038.jpg

  4. We have been there, yes very good. We have also had the Talbot at Mells recommended so will probably do that for our wedding anniversary.

  5. Yes, it's a moronic suggestion. Apparently, a lot of raw material trade happens in Switzerland - people with computers and whatnot. They just wanted to make it illegal to do it here, but of course, companies would just decamp somewhere else. You only need a small office and some computers.
A noble intention, no doubt but totally unworkable and ridiculous. Didn't have to think very long about that one.

  6. Up at 03:30 this morning to drive to Gatwick. Straight forward flight to Alicante and then made our way down to the Circuito de Almeria. Had a nose around and talked to a few Ducati riders before heading back to the hotel. Eventually found it despite the sketchy directions. Waiting on sign in, buffet and a few beers before bed. The poor old bugger is bloody knackerd. Briefing at 09:30 tomorrow morning and then out on track. Andy

  8. Thank you Merv, I appreciate that. Weather the last few days has been average but looks a lot better from tomorrow. First outing for the 853 and I'm tingling with excitement. It has been a looong day so going to bed now. Goodnight all :smileys:. Andy

  9. I understand that "criminal" includes breaking speed limits ... and you're a foreigner ... better start packing your bags @gliddofglood .

  10. Got the garden shredder fired up today and cleared all the wind damage debris that littered the garden. Then set about tidying the shed which was an absolute tip. Found at that rats have been wrecking things and the place stunk. Chucked loads out and I am know seriously considering a new shed due to some rot and holes , curtesy of the rats !
Still not been out on the bike this year.....

  11. Been pondering whether to buy a 1098S Tricolore :Wideyed:

  12. Ah, but I'm not a foreigner. I'm Swiss, so no being sent back to the UK for me!

I didn't check to see whether the list of crimes involved speeding, though it's possible. I think it unlikely though. It was mainly a list of crimes of violence or rape.

I voted against in any case. Actually, the law was already voted on, but some people think the government has been dragging its feet, hence this new "initiative" which requires a vote. I think the government should be allowed to finish the job - no point in hassling them hence my vote.

  13. Yesterday freezing cold and trying to snow. My fingers went numb just changing a couple of fat balls for the birds.
Today almost t-shirt weather. Dug up the rest of the carrots, picked the final brussels sprouts, dug up some parsnips. Made a hachis parmentier with some of the parsnips and herbs from the garden and accompanied it with the carrots and sprouts - or at least some of them.
I can't remember ever getting so much out of my garden in the middle of February.

  14. Today - sold my 750 Lowrider Hardtail Chopper to a very nice fella from Cork! Glad it's gone to a proper guy at last! I can't tell you him many dreamers, nutters, loons, wannabe 1%ers and general time wasters I've had on it! Mind you I've drawn £700 in unrefindable deposits off idiots!!! I was seriously thinking about just leaving it advertised and collecting £4/500 a month? image.jpeg

  15. Is it true or urban myth that every Swiss household has to own a working Rifle???

  16. Been a few years since I ate here so I can't really comment. Setting is nice though - classic village. Bloke who ownsBabington and newsreader wife live inMells. Supposedly home of Little jack Horner story/rhyme.

Over that way (ish) the Vobster inn is nice as well.

  17. They'd probably be better off taxing it rather than driving it underground or overseas. Someone hasn't thought It through. Damn the inefficient Swiss.

  18. That will be urban myth but it springs from this:

The Swiss army is not a professional army. It's a people's militia, I suppose. What that means is that for years (until very recently) all men had to do military service. It was a year when you are/were about 20, and then 3 weeks every year until you're 40.
It was/is the practice that all soldiers (so that will be all men under 40) had to keep their service weapon (rifle) at home, in readiness, just in case there was a sudden war...
This means that an enormous amount of households have an assault rifle, or whatever it is that they are issued with. Don't ask me if they also have the ammo; i don't know. I heard on the news today in fact that the Swiss are the 3rd most armed nation per head on earth (guess who's first).

Recently things have changed. You no longer have to do the military service; you can do civil defence instead or some such. And I think that the practice of everyone keeping their rifle at home is dying out. But honestly, I'm not all that up on that stuff. i do know that when you are still doing your 3 weeks a year military service, you also have to pass a shooting test every year, so most villages have a shooting range in a field somewhere. Having the gun handy cuts down on admin to go and get it, I suppose. It used to be frequent to see people on trains or on bicycles with a rifle - off to do their obligatory annual shoot. Haven't seen nearly so much of that in recent years.

  19. Ponder away but its not a r and you know thats what you want ?,Do you think the panni tric will be a good future classic ?

  20. The 1098S Tri will go up in value more than the R in % terms I think - the R has bolted. This one only has 3000km so I can play with it for a while too :) If the price matches opportunity I will go for it I think - it's a one owner with full termi system.
The Pani Tri will be a good one for the future, it's guessing when they have bottomed out :)
