Smooth boxes all round :fearscream: However, my QS seems fine under 7k, smooth and easy and not clunking about. If it were something more serious, are Ducati on the ball with replacements and ordering parts or is it a long drawn out process?
I think he's meaning a false neutral from 5th to 6th and so hits the limiter because the throttle is still open while using the QS. I got that a lot when I was running in as well. Seemed to get better once the first 1000 miles were passed though. [emoji4]
I'll second this. Mine was exactly the same when using decent throttle and the quick shifter. Changing up at 6k it would find false neutrals and then over rev. Seems to be working well now at almost 2000 miles but, I only use it when pushing on at higher revs.
Yeah, that's pretty much identical to me. I found it much more likely to happen 4th to 5th and 5th to 6th than any other shifts. At 3,300 miles it doesn't hit the false neutral often anymore.
Totally forgot about posting on here and was searching something else and it reminded me to update you guys in case someone else comes across a similar issue.... What I thought was the gear box actually turned out to be nothing more than the gear selector rod just being a bit loose. I had some aftermarket cans installed and when fitting the new cans, you have to loosen a bolt close to the gear selector rod (something like that), anyway the mechanic tightened everything back up and I haven't had it since. Either a loose selector rod or maybe needs a bit of lube on it to loosen it getting caught but nothing more sinister. As for the hot starting issue, oddly, this has gone away too. I haven't really had it in a while, at one stage it was happening almost every ride at least once, sometimes 3 or 4 times if it were a long ride. It does happen now and again and I mean, I could ride 1,000 miles and it not happen, then it happens out the blue and fails to fire up but turn the bike off, then back on again and away we go. Bike is on about 5,700 miles now and it had been happening all the way up to 3,000 ish miles from brand new.
