916 Arriving This Week.

  1. Further to my 916 sps purchase advice thread i opted not go through with the deal after too many issues. Luckily i came across a 916 advertised in MCN on line. Beautiful condition (in fact the best i have seen so far) history that checked out with just 11500 miles. Absolutely standard, not one extra sticker even no tank pad. Belts changed less than a year ago. The only thing missing is the underseat tool kit, other than than it is flawless.
I am taking delivery Friday for the sum of £7500.

  9. Yes i know. The bike has done nothing. Last owner had it 3 years covering 100 miles.
What do reckon to the price ?

  10. Gorgeous! Hopefully you will be upping the mileage a bit this summer.

  11. Lovely bike, they are awesome. It seems to be the most common bike people regret selling.

Price is hard to judge as the 748/9*6/8 bikes seem to be going up daily, or at least the asking price is. A standard bike will always be worth more in years to come, when you start adding bits, keep the old stuff.

Do you know you have a big service due in 500 miles? 12k mls needs the rockers checking and valve clearances done. and get the alternator nut checked too.
    What year is it?

  12. Looks like a a real clean and original bike.
    Well done.

    Henk!!!

  13. Yes I am aware of the major service which I can live with as don't intend to put big miles on it. It's a 95 bike. Interesting plate with 916 in the reg number. Sure that won't affect the value but desirable non the less.

  14. I plan to put one of those fancy red and white tail pieces on it but sure will keep dual seat safe.

  15. Looks really tidy, can't see in the pic, has it still got rubber front brake hoses? Price might sound heavy to some but I think the early ones are starting to move up in value especially if they are completely standard which is getting to be a rare thing these days.

  16. Wouldn't mind it myself looks great, Photos on Friday :upyeah:

  17. Looks very clean well done

  18. Ok so it arrived yesterday. Stunningly beautiful. Very very clean, better than I imagined. Absolutely standard apart from braided brake hose on the front.
Only one problem took the side fairing off to check battery condition and discovered repair to fairing where it attaches underneath to the left side fairing. I new this was a problem encountered by owners before. It is not visible but I managed to undo the repair whilst taking it off.
