1199 Carbon Termis And Custom Map Review

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by frazzle, Feb 19, 2016.

  1. Just though I'd write a quick update (pics to follow) on the Custom Map and Front Exit Carbon Termi's I've had put on by the boys at MotoRapido...

Rather than rant and rave (which I could do for ages cos my bike is even more awesome than it was before) I thought I'd just go for a few bullet points.

    • Fantastic Soundtrack, a much deeper sound, probably slightly louder but certainly not the 115Db someone was mentioning on here, don't think I'll have any dramas at sound testing for trackdays.
    • Looks are always subjective but I think they look fecking great..
    • Super smooth in the lower rev range making it managable to ride through town in heavy traffic when you have to.
    • Midrange seems stronger, would like to get it dyno'd at some point to see the torque curve but definitely feels meatier
    • Throttle response seems better, less snatchy...
    • Did I mention the sound :grinning:.... 6-9k awesome.... 9k + epic.....
All in all I'm really pleased with the results, I didn't want and wasn't expecting more noise as it's a loud bike as standard, but the deeper sound is aural poetry and it's evident from when it fires up... the behaviour of the bike at low revs is astonishing, night and day.. will be happy to ride it to work more often as it'll be more enjoyable (especially when it's wet and cold when when you need to be smoother)..

It's the first custom map I've had on a bike, i've always had power commanders but I'm converted, I'm not knocking up maps keys or power commanders etc but for £300 this custom map has transformed my bike, it hasn't taken away the mentalness and attitude of the 1199 but I guess it's made it a little bit more pleasant to ride when pootling like the 899 and 1299 are..

On a side note, an entertaining feature of the front exit exhausts is that when you pull up at a junction or lights and are in or have standing water either side of you and you rev the bike a little you can spray said puddle all over the twat in a cage who just pulled out in front of you :sunglasses:..

Once I get all the crud off the bike from my ride home I'll post up some pics...

  2. Great review. You see kit out there and I always wonder what its like. Did you upgrade from the standard equipment or was it from the 'normal' termi's.

  3. I upgraded from standard equipment, it was just the end cans and not a full system, am now wondering aside from aesthietics is it worth getting a titanium pipe ugrade later in the year...

  4. A few Pics after a quick clean.. not the best pictures but give you an idea of how it looks, I'm proper stoked with them...

  5. Looks good, although I'd like to see a proper side-on picture to see it properly. Any chance of a video to hear how it sounds?

  6. Will get a walk around video with sound when I'm back home this weekend.... Just hope my phones mic can do it justice

  7. Do u feel any heat coming off them where the exits are forward?

  8. No because the exits are facing at an angle down and away from the bike...
