Hi all, My nuts (oh err) on the rear axle (i.e. sprocket and wheel side) look a bit tired through corrosion - I rang a dealer up to be quoted around £43 the pair. I know you can get alloy ones for similar money, but does anyone know of any stainless ones or any other suggestions? Cheers!

Thanks for the replies guys. Yeah, I just didn't fancy spending £80+ on a pair of nuts even though they do look good and the problem with plating is that the bike would be out of action whilst they were being done
Wanted some chroming done for 400/4, just a few bits and pieces? The company refused to take the job on - minimum £50 order only... :frown:
they turn up on Ebay for £15 the pair with 'washers' from time to time so you could go the replate route that way. Chrome platers often have a min. qty so best to get together with some fellow platers etc.
Yes that was the other thing I was worried about, the one plater I know has a minimum 'bucket' sized quantity lol
I just used wet and dry on mine followed by scotchbrite pad then Solvol and they came up better than new.
Just use wire wool or rougher wet and dry to start off with then gradually go smoother. Mine look nearly Chrome !
