  1. Picked this up from Wroughtironron on this forum last Sept/Oct 15,
First job was to de-sticker was around 58 stickers but the white band for the Xerox was sprayed on and not a sticker so after a think (shit or bust) i got a can of cellulose thinners and a few rags and spent three hours per side getting it off then T cut and a polish, it has come out great and i am very pleased with the finish,
Ive been fitting this around my KH250 rebuild so tidy up in progress,

  2. What a difference it makes when you clean off the misty film on the inside of the headlight's (would it not affect the light when its MOT time?)

  3. Easy, eh? smartens up the front end a lot with little effort.
What did you use in the end?

  4. Easy job to do,
I was surprised it came off so easy as all i used was WD40 sprayed in and put a bit of rag in there and moved it around with the handle of a wooden spoon (didn't use a screwdriver as it could scratch the lens) its not condensation so can only think its from the heat of the headlight combined with the quality of the glass lens?
Interested to see how long before it comes back,

  5. I heard that once it's cleaned up, it's rare that it comes back.
Did mine only 4 months ago but still looking good. :upyeah:

A few before and after and a few coats of Hammerite smooth on the engine.

I like the quality spacers they made  they just crumble when you undo them, one snapped bolt and a mate had fun welding a nut to the button bolts that hold the heat shield on as they were ringed off,

  14. Can anyone tell me what the washers that are used with the heat shield bolts are made of are they metal or nylon,

  15. Wow! That's come up a treat ! Have you been brave enough to tackle the clutch yet ? Looking good for some summertime blasting this year @Roadtrip

  16. No need to weld your nuts, just knock the biggest torx bit that will go in into the allen socket and undo it, then replace with stainless.

  17. I would suggest fibre

  18. Can't remember the proper name. Just pop into your local DIY shop with the bolt so they can match them. I did this and very cheap. Might be called plumbers washes...

  19. Thanks, old rider. My head was about to start hurting thinking about this. :)
I hate it when I can't remember stuff that I did recently.

  20. Hammerited cases look good.
    What was the process?
Did you do that in the frame?
    Did you etch prime first?
    Did you brush or spray?
