  9. Was really busy yesterday. Hopefully something may come of it.

  10. Was given a 1000 ds multi to use by Ducati Manchester whilst mine is in for a service and a termignoni exhaust. Have really enjoyed blasting around cheshire's back lanes through partially flooded roads. A little cruder than the newer version but a proper blast and with a back brake.

  11. I've been reading The Client by John Grisham. It's absolute tosh.

I don't read airport blockbusters and now I know why I don't. The characterisation is completely 2-dimensional. The writing contains not a hint of style, interesting word selection or sentence construction. The plot is wafer thin and hardly believable. The pace is glacial. I've read 300 pages with another 250 to go and I'm pretty sure that nothing is going to happen. The central character, an 11 year old child, is extremely annoying.
I've had the book for about 20 years, ever since a friend insisted on leaving it with me - together with another half dozen similar books - when he visited me. I only accepted them to spare his feelings.

Why am I reading it? Because John Grisham sells millions of books. He is probably richer than anyone on here and this is how he makes his money. It's incredible. If you hope to get a novel published, this is extremely encouraging. Even if your work never is published, it is comforting to know that it wasn't as bad as this stuff. The mystery is why would people read this when they could be reading something by, say, Ian McEwan?

I haven't read a book this bad since the Da Vinci code, and that had a much better plot and was faster paced.

  12. got the cast off my right arm on Tuesday afternoon, and managed to get a physio cancellation yesterday morning (well done NHS). bone is repairing nicely, but been told by the physio it will be 12-18 months before the arm/wrist is back to its previous state. it is more painful now doing the rehab than it was when I broke it.

now I rarely get to ride the 998 at the best of times, so it looks like it will either be going into storage, sold or similar. I see it as only gaining in value so am loathe to sell it any time soon, but I am sure there are plenty of volunteers willing to "keep it ticking over" for me - thanks, but it would be like handing over your girlfriend to a porn star, so that's out of the question.

a more mildly positioned bike will be accessible sooner for my arm, so all is not completely lost.

  13. Onwards and upwards with the repairing efcbluepete.Always good to have another bike.:upyeah:

  15. Currently sat in a hyperbaric chamber ImageUploadedByTapatalk1457024108.537465.jpg at 2 bar - I'm not even a quarter of the way into my treatment and all I have to say about it is - it works - so anyone else out there who is struggling with injuries it might be worth looking into

  18. By chance got a sneaky peak at a new Tri Options Cup 899 in the work shop and was rather impressed by the brake and clutch levers. So impressed I bought a pair - Renthal Intelli Levers. Andy

  19. Chronic shoulder pain caused by worn and damaged ligaments mainly - that flare up and lead to migraine - probably caused by years of abuse working with horses / water skiing etc etc and a couple of damaging falls

Something I've suffered from for years that had beef getting steadily worse and the fact that I wasn't prepared to take 'prescribed' medication

Although doctors have only said its 'old age' and recommend physio

Monthly trips to the osteopath were becoming less and less effective
