So what have you done today..?

  1. Today I've signed off a new company video, done some PR and dipped in and out of here.

This afternoon I went to Sheffield for a meeting.

Now I'm watching the cycling on bbc2:)

  2. Been on a training course for Rako home automation. I'll never look at a light switch the same way again! The MD is a Ducati owner, too (1199)

  3. Fitted the Superpole seat. Andy

  7. Did you have any problems fitting the under tray with the 6 hooked tangs Andy?

  8. Very interested in your treatment Char and hope that it continues to show improvements, I can relate heavily to your post above and could've written most of it myself. good luck with the treatment.

  9. Today I found myself a full on winter project to keep myself busy and out of temptation down the pub! It's a proper "old school" 1969/70 Harley Chopper (yes I know,I hate HDs as well!) with 1000cc period engine, forks, drum brakes front and back etc - suppose the trendy word for it nowadays is a "survivor motorcycle".Going to strip it completely next week, send the frame off and get to work on the rest! image.png

  10. That made me smile. :upyeah: It's the kind of bike I thought I wanted when I was a kid. Please give it it's own thread and keep us up to date with the progress. I'm looking forward to see how it turns out.

  11. Sorry Chris, I don't understand the question. I had a race seat fitted which was past its best and just removed 2 special bolts. The Superpole seat was supplied with top hat spacers and 2 ordinary bolts. I didn't have to do anything with the undertray which now scares me given your question. Andy

  12. Picked up a new big brother for my 899 yesterday, so have been out racing up the run-in miles on it
Early impressions of the Africa twin are very good

  13. It could be that I am a little tired and lacking concentration Andy. The picture you included looks like the standard carbon fibre seat unit fitted to the R? If it is, then it normally has a plastic under tray fitted to it which for the most part, protects the seat and the electrics from the heat of the exhaust. Have had conversations with several people about how potentially difficult it is to fit the under tray or more specifically, how to engage all 6 tangs without trauma.

EDIT Sorry Andy, ignore all above, it's my poor grasp of correct terminology - transposed 'seat unit/fairing' for 'seat' :Sorry:

  14. My plan is to build it in the style of the Capt. America chopper from Easy Rider - not an exact clone because that's been done before plenty of times and people ask anything from £25,000 to £100,000! I want to make it more rideable so it will be enjoyed and not just towed round on a trailer to be exhibited at shows etc.Ive done some basic costings and including the cost of the chop as it stands now I can do a pretty good build for £5500/6000.I smell a bit of profit in the old girl once I get it featured in a couple of chopper magazines?

  15. I do have what I believe to be the standard R carbon monoposta seat unit and when I took the race seat pad off there is a big hole through which you can see the exhaust. Is this not right ? Andy

  16. No, it's fine, – was talking to Ricky X about this as we are both baffled (npi) by it (the gaping (std) hole). Having said this, you do have a black plastic under tray fitted further back?

  17. Thanks! I will do - I've built quite a few insane chops over the years - some good and some truly awful! The awful creations were at a period in my life when I wasn't a happy chappy and a full on Alcoholic nutcase with an out of control cocaine habit but those times are in the past - thank god!

  18. Yes Chris and I have had a look at the seat that came with the track bodywork I have and the undertray for that is as short. No lugs though, all screws. Andy

  19. Always welcome to give me a pm

You will probably have to self refer most doctors won't want to know and not available on nhs the sessions are only £17 each but will depend on where you have local with facilities - 20 sessions over 4/5 weeks to start - too much muddling info on net but worth looking here Welcome to the Isle of Man Hyperbaric Medical Facility | Hyperbaric Isle of Man

  20. I am reading a Microsoft Sales presentation. After which, I need to take a 30 minute exam on it in order to secure a certain status for the shop to sell Education Microsoft products.

It is a 60 page document containing an alphabet soup of abbreviations, products, sub-products, additional products, licences, time periods, qualifications, systems, servers, clouds. It is completely incomprehensible.
What is interesting is that MS must imagine that it is in fact comprehensible, and that their multiple inventions and add-ons is the best way of doing business.
This tells you about as much as you would wish to know about Microsoft: it's a means of making life extremely complicated.
