  2. Mvman, thanks for the heads up.

If you consider selling please don't hesitate to contact me.

p.s it would appear we are local to each other in sunny South Wales!

  3. that's the same one which is listed on pistonheads website. The one with the £2500 exhaust system!

  4. I think someone has just posted one for sale on here with very limited info ?

  5. what's wrong with the tail?

  6. It's an aftermarket 'fake desmosedici' tail-piece. I reckon people often fit them as a cheap way of making the Biposto look a bit sportier, as the Bip tail-piece is itself a bit ungainly-looking (I'm trying to be polite :innocent:).

It's personal preference <stands well back> but to me, nothing looks quite right on a 999/749 except the standard Mono rear...? A Biposto with a seat cover looks waay better than the 'desmo' tail though, which just looks like it came from another bike (er, which it did).

No idea why you would fit one to a 749R!

  7. Possibly because the seller claims to have a WSB exhaust fitted. To be fair, the end can in the picture looks huge which may not have fitted with the standard rear end. Andy

  8. I would steal well clear, it's non original, no one wants a limited edition bike that's been messed with, also that exhaust is only a silencer at best as it still has the different sized pipes as apposed to the proper snake system you would expect.

The wait may have to continue.

  9. You don't butcher any R model with a 'fake' tail. IMO.

  10. Here is the original and CRC tails, which I have both, However the original is still best, which is what I have on at the moment.

  11. That bike is not for me, waiting on two others sellers to come back to me with further details. Fingers crossed I can get what I'm looking for by the end of the month. Thanks for all the help so far gents.

  12. I was going to do a 5 hour round trip to view that bike but you guys have put me off now, B5rlr did you go and see the one in Finchley on here?

  13. Hi Ace, when you say finchley I'm unsure of the bike you mean? The only reason I didn't go look at that bike is due to the poor advert and that the seller hasn't responded to any of my questions with regards to original parts. I have a few other options available which will hopefully work out

  14. Sorry wasn't aware of his location, I have spoken to the owner by email.

  15. With regard to fake tail pipe it's not a fake as it has a genuine ducati stamp on it and it was fitted by jhp in cov, they know us very well there and I'm sure would have no problem clarifying this to a genuine buyer. The original comes with the bike as part of the sale! Also the reason for sale is genuine medical reasons not being retarded, and since when has it been a crime to advertise on piston heads and ebay? If you are genuine buyer then please contact our number and stop listening to people on a forum who haven't even seen it. The right buyer is out there and we are in no rush to sell it, so can wait.

  16. I Know Hackett can charge but I wouldn't have thought he got you to pay £2.5K JHP tax for that exhaust.

  17. thats what the previous owner that sold it back to JHP paid for the exhaust and set up I'm only explaining in the ad what we was told, the exhaust and set up was done at JHP, the original exhaust comes with the sale of the bike, so what's the big deal?
