dexided to just go out fuel in and ended up out for a 45 min blast around the local roads. Roll on summer... Still only 6degrees up here
I meant to get out on mine today but my friend in a bottle captain Morgan took care of me last night.. Looks lovely mate
Took mine out today for the first time since November!! I know I ashamed to admit it, was meant to be just a quick run round town and stop at the local on the way back, ended up being an hour and a half through the new forest, God I forgot how good it is
Popped out myself today at 11am...... Got back in at 3.30ish....mix of motorway, dual carriageway, A and Bs and some nice not too twisties for a new rider. Max temp 3degrees but didn't get cold, go wet though! Had sun, shower, proper rain, hail and snow not deal for 4th time out ha ha back in 1 piece the bike is awesome :sunglasses:
Got a nice 100 mile ride in yesterday, although I shouldn't have bothered as the roads were pretty damp and I got soaked by a heavy shower on my way through Bristol. 899 was cracking though
So whats the deal with hetting the bikes wet in here or salty? Im not one to polish it all day, like it to be well kept and well maintained but seems lots park them up until its perfect conditions?
As a new rider should i be super cautious of damp roads? All seems very stable and friendly when driven notmally....
Well you've kind of answered your own question there. If the bike feels good and you're being smooth then you're probably doing everything right. I guess the main thing is to just make sure you're gentle with the throttle and brakes and keep loose on the bars - tensing up won't allow the bike to handle how it wants to. There's absolutely no need to ride super cautiously (to the point of being a too slow and possibly more of a danger to yourself and others) as long as you're sensible.
Makes sense... The 899 is very confidence inspiring though! Have done more on 4 trips than I ever did with the harley! Guess it just makes better sense....
