I was thinking about improvements to the headlights. There are 4 55W Halogen bulbs in the front of the bike - all that needs to be done is persuade them all to come on at once! Is this feasible? I'm assuming they don't for a reason but what reason?
If they all came on at once would you then be driving around on main beam dazzling every vehicle on the road?
I hope so. I guess I meant on main beam just more of it! But it doesn't help for regular beam I suppose.
Never got my hands on the 899 series to see how the light could be improved. I would guess that there are two dips and two mains, but only one dip would probably come on due to some stupid regulation. A pair of mains should come on together and perhaps the dip would stay on while the mains were on, but I am just guessing. I am sure that a little messing with the wiring is all that is needed.
Just found a wiring diagram for the Panigale. Not sure what market it is for but there are two dips and two mains. Both are driven through their own relay so that makes things easy. I suspect that if you only have one dip lighting on a UK market bike then it is just a matter of connecting both dips up. If the dip goes out when main beam is switched on then a third relay triggering the dip relay from the main beam feed is a simple addition.
