Im finally in a position to buy a replacement for my 899 which I intend to sell privately. Unfortunately the timing is not perfect as I've missed out on the free Akras over winter. Does anybody have any up to date knowledge of discounts/deals on 1299's (standard or S, with or without Akras)? I'm willing to buy from anywhere in the UK. Cheers
Hey Rosso, I've just agreed on a new S and negotiated the Akra cans into the deal but rather than post the dealer I will PM you.
I wouldn't get too hung up on the akros unless you really love the look. I had loan 1299 with standard cans for weeks and it was plenty loud enough. Akros are nicer sounding and crisper throttle response all round but I wouldn't be jumping to pay £2600 for them even though I got them in the winter deal. See if you can get about £2k off the bike and wait for some. 2nd hand ones to appear next year when they bring out the 1000cc v4
I guess we will see spy shots any time from around may then if they plan to show it before Christmas! If it's anything like the scrambler we are in for a shocking teaser campaign lasting months
Not started ringing around yet, test ride in the morn. I'm not averse to going the standard can route if the discount is good, do you think 2k is achievable at this time of year on a base 1299? And if so, is that on the assumption I sell my 899 privately and not p/x it? ( I appreciate with the p/x route, the cost of change is key..)
Denied by the Ducati CEO a couple of months ago but we shall see in the coming months. I wouldn't be surprised to see a £30k V4 produced at some point but with the 1299 still available as a better road going alternative.
Like Rosso I'm fortunate to be in a position to get a 1299, though a base. Will be going down the PCP route, which suits me at this time. It seems the low rate deal may end in March but maybe extended. Anyone recently bought a 1299 and if so apart the low interest offer are there any deals to be had. Have looked online but haven't started ringing around or going to the dealers as prefer dealing face to face. Cheers
Well the deal is done, finally after 2 years of trying to justify changing my bike I'll be picking up a new 1299 next month. It's currently in a crate and should be here in a couple of weeks hopefully.
I little bit of movement on the price but that's more down to a mate in the trade. Tried my local dealer who have just opened near Cambridge so thought they might be more flexible but they couldn't move on the price. Offered a free Ducati track day but wouldn't want to risk throwing a new bike down the road, have got a track prepped Tl1000 for that.
I'm hoping the new euro 4 bike will not look as good or sound as good therefore bolstering 1299 residuals (even though I'm never selling lol).
Strong rumours from Italy suggest the 1299/959 will be the last superquadro line up. 2017 apparently will see a v4 1000cc. But as someone pointed out earlier could also just be a special priced like SL.
Euro 4 has to have an effect on the 2017 model. Maybe the exhaust will be similar to the WSK one or worse case like the 959. Regardless the 1299 is a keeper for me, very happy and lucky man.
Same here I'll be keeping mine. But if this is the last year of the 1299 they won't make it Euro 4 compliant.
