  2. Hiya

I have just bought a 1299 which i streeetched to buy., and would be interested in exhaust upgrade

New to ducatii so this is a newbie opinion

Akra and Termi's are £3500. This seams riddiculous when full titanium systems for 3 & 4 cylinder alternatives from acra and termi are £1000-£1500. My last full titanium system from triumph on a 675 was £750 .. and i bet it had as much titanium in it as a 1299 exhaust.

personally I can't afford that amount. Looks - I don't think there's anything wrong with the standard exahust - is neetly packaged and streamlined into the bike.

I'd pay to have existing exhausts decatted - this will give 75% of the benefit of a full system anyway and losses a reasonable amount of weight, increase in mid range and performance

I'd pay a bit more to go to full titanium and loose some additional weight and perhaps better gas flow - but i don't think the standard exhaust can be that far off the mark anyway ...

  3. I've just decatted a 1299 exhaust, its not a pleasant job at all. I should have it back from the welders next week

  4. Well if you knock up something decent for the 959 then I'm guessing you'll not be short of orders. In terms of looks and price I'd just want it to retain the flowing lines of the bike as per the standard/Termi/Akra cans do. I'm not really into how most of the other aftermarket offerings look, but that's obviously subjective.

Price wise - I'm not sure if you'd be marketing this as a more cost effective version, or a bespoke hand-built premium system - bringing with it a high price tag? I presume you build exhaust systems, do you have any examples of your previous offerings?

Oh and congrats on the 1199 purchase and welcome to the forum :upyeah:

  5. Cool did you have any instructions from anywhere as to what to do - or is it bleedin obvious when you take the system off?

  6. I had done it to an 1199 set of cans so kind of knew what to expect. With the 1199 cans its easier as they have an alloy sleeve to cover the welds up. Cutting is the easy bit its removing the cats that is the pain.
