899 Side Stand.....wtf!

  1. I just picked up a 899, really happy with it and when I got home.....
I was like wtf..... Why is it so hard to get the side stand down! It's not just flicking it down with your foot, it's move your foot in many awkward positions until it's down....
Did Ducati not want us to get off the bike or something?
The only Down fall so far.

  2. I find it ok using my heel

  3. Same here, use your heel. No issues.

  4. Toe method round the back approach :Wideyed:

  5. yep, toe around the back of the foot peg and then its easy, try it.

  6. i normally give up and just use my hand!

  7. I find it easy now. Just use my toes and come from behind the sets. No worries.

  8. I've had the same problem. Looked like I was trying to kick start the bloody thing when I pulled in to get fuel. I'll try the toe approach.

  9. Get 1 of these R&G, I had the same problem and this helps.

  10. You're not the only one to complain about this. I think we were all a little taken aback when we first tried to get the side stand down on our Panigale's. It's easy once you've sussed it and had a bit of practice.

  11. Jun, I had the same problem, however with a little practise I mastered it by using the inside of my boot (Sidi Vertigo) i.e. catching the stand with one of the stitched side panels. It's a doddle now. Good luck!

  12. Thanks guys,
I sort figured away with out sitting on the bike for 5mins.
I lift the foot peg up and the push down. As my boots keep catching on the foot peg if I try and use heel or toe

  13. That's a good idea!

  14. Exactly this. A bit of practice and it soon becomes easy

  15. Yep pain in the arse to get the side stand down but I still keep smiling every time I get off my 1199S, the agony of finding stand is worth it :grinning::sunglasses:
