Hello folks Is there a decent source you guys use for getting upgrade/replacement bits for your 1098s (or 848/1198 for that matter). I'm based in the Middle East and the dealer support here is pretty, er, patchy, to say the least, but it's easy enough to get stuff shipped over. Just wondering if there's one place people tend to go for stuff? Cheers
Hi James, I don't use one particular company, as there are loads and they do sell different products. Mostly though, I use the following: UK Based.. Moto Rapido Ducati Dealer in Hampshire (Ducati Dealer, BSB race team owners too) Ducati Glasgow - Scotland's Ducati Store (Ducati Dealer and great bunch of guys/gals) Motorcycle | Motorbike Screens, Wheels, Performance Parts, Spares, Accessories (Brilliant folks and supply loads of race teams) Forza-moto - Achat et Vente de pièces détachées Ducati UK ROAD AND RACE - MOTORCYCLE PERFORMANCE PARTS Carbon trader web site - Ducati Carbon Parts & more! Motorsport, Motorcycle & Car Equipment, Accessories, Tuning & Clothing | Sparco, Alpinestars, Arai, Recaro, OMP - Demon Tweeks US Based... Motorcycle Gear | Buy Motorcycle Helmets, Jackets, Parts, Tires & More BellissiMoto - Exotic Parts for the Beautiful Italian in your life. Welcome to kurveygirl.com If shipping to the UAE, you don't have to pay UK VAT. I've found that shipping costs "normally" equate to the VAT portion, so no great savings as such. Also, (this is for Abu Dhabi, but think Dubai is the same), you'll be charged 5% tax on any item valued over 1000 aed. You also have to pay a Govt, logging/processing fee of around 75aed. Use only good shipping companies, DHL/FedEX/UPS/Aramex. Rest are crap... Happy shopping ;-)
You're welcome fella. As a side note, you can get spares from Ducati Dubai, normally within a few days if they don't have them in stock. For our year of bikes, the only parts they will normally have in stock is anything that cross-references with newer bikes. Bonus is you don't pay for shipping so price-wise, it's perhaps cheaper than ordering from the UK. I think they order on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays, so placing an order with the workshop the day before is a better idea. Also, get the spare parts manual for your bike, the most up-to-date version you can. You can get them here: Service and maintenance motorcycle | Ducati The guy that used to run the parts dept. (Pawel) has left. It's a big loss to us as he really knew his stuff and is a bike guy. I just get Ducati to do the minimum to my bike and the difficult stuff. Belts, oil/fluid/Fork oils changes (just to get rid of liquids). Keep the service book stamped.
