1200 DVT M50 Brake Pads

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Meds, Mar 13, 2016.

  1. I've just noticed that my brake pads are wafer thin after 6000miles.
Just wondered what people are doing/favouring upon replacement.
Don't know what I expected to get out of them but 6000 doesn't seem much.
Ideally I suppose I'm after pads that stop better, last twice as long and are half the price.
    Any suggestions? Cheers

  2. I'm still on my original pads after 16000 miles, with plenty of meat left.

    Something's not right …

  3. OEM front pads-Brembo M50's £92.40 per side + fitting!!!
Apparently they're a lot softer than previous Multi.

  4. I was very disappointed with the OE pads. I swapped them straight away for the EBC HH (both front & rear). Now improved bite/less effort on lever.
Did the same swap on my 1199S too...

  5. I think these are the same compound. I've bought stuff from this company in the past and they were cheaper than buying in the UK at that time.
Brake Pads Brembo 07BB3793 Sintered Sport

linked from original M50 page, also known as M430 on Aprilia's:
Brembo Set Monobloc M50 Radial Calipers 100mm mount

I swapped the callipers for the M4's and they went through the first set of sintered pads in no time at all. I had a feeling they may have been dragging slightly. If these are the same they are easy to change yourself.

  6. let go of the lever....

  7. Dealers had a 1299 in with spent pads after 5000miles.
I've never found pad longevity a problem on previous Multi or any other bike in the last 30 years

  8. Product code: 07BB37.93

That's the ones as far as I can see, perhaps double check with the dealer. €49 a pair on the Italian site link I put up.

  9. it ....was....a......joke....

  10. Cheers for that.
I've spoken to dealer but Ducati code doesn't match. 99% certain they're the ones, I'll just pull a set out the weekend to make sure as they have a 1:1 PDF on their site.
A major saving that, thanks again.

  11. Ooh you have a vicious tongue

  12. No problem, hope it works for you.

And is anyone else getting the annoying squeal 'just' as you pull up top a halt?

  13. Yup, not an issue for me, couldn't care less
