Workshop manuals available for down load - mentioned loads of time on here, but the search function is pants
Theres a manual that can be downloaded some on here must have a link or something., I printed mine off from a disc I had ( somewhere ).its about 600 pages I got one of the girls in the office to do it for me.
This PDF manual, it is for MY03 999? It's not quite right, ie, the oil change guide, the mesh filter is different.
Can anyone tell me if the grey swingarm version is different? I swear the oil strainer bit is different.
The deep sump motor has the strainer sat vertical in the bottom of the V (that's what's shown in the manual) yours will be the standard motor with the strainer sat horizontal in the bottom of the sump. There are probably other differences but all pretty minor in the grand scheme of things. Once you've got their knickers off there's not a massive amount of difference 748 thru to 1198
Cool. Just used the 996 manual to get it out with the 996 toolkit. For the strainer, there is an allen headed bolt underneath but it appears to do nothing.
Ps, you should see it. Thick in sludge and squashed flat, right job to get it out. Looks like somebody stood on it!
No Haynes available for these bikes. Lots of folk are scornful of them but I think they have their place. I contacted Haynes and they said they would consider printing one if demand was sufficient.
yeah, i like them, useful to have to hand. The manual above is not quite right, found the fuel line disconnect wrong last night. Most of it is good though, don't wish to sound ungrateful.
