1098 70mm Full Termi System For 1098s

  1. Hi All,

I currently have a bog standard 1098S and can't stop looking at this ad:

    http://www.adverts.ie/9135602

What are people's thoughts on these systems? Are they a good upgrade for a bike that is just used for summer blasts in good weather? Are they a simple bolt on and ride away job with no further re-mapping or messing around needed? Would this be overkill and make a road bike unrideable? What would be considered an appropriate second hand price?

    Cheers in advance!

  2. Old style cans you want the slash one look far better

  3. I'm old and cynical so to me the advert you linked rings alarm bells. Been on sale for 3 months, advert amended because someone pointed out the seller had claimed the exhaust would fit an 848 and if I understand the sale web site, the seller has no feedback. €2500 when purchased, on sale for €1200 but will take a €1000, mmm nah, walk away. One thing the 1098 does not lack is real world road bhp. If you really want to improve your ride, spend your money on a good suspension set up or if it's more bhp, get it remapped with the OE exhaust. Andy

  4. Hi Andy,

That's probably what I needed someone to tell me.... The bike is definitely not lacking power or performance (for me) so I guess I'll keep my money where it is.....

    Thanks,

    Anthony.

  5. Careful. The 1098r (70mm) exhaust will not fit up with the 1098s. Differernt at the header. The 1098r will fit on the 1198. Before dropping any money I'd confirm what bike the exhaust is from.
If you upgrade the exhaust you will need to reflash the map (not that hard to do).

  6. do you have a 1098R blackduc? - will add you to our list if you do.
