Hi guys, Wondering if anyone here could help me out with an error code. Im in the process of a 1098 project build using 1098 dash, keys and electrics etc. All these type of electrics are new to me as im used to the old 916/996 electrics. On powering up the dash with key it all looks ok but Im getting an error showing. Code 37.0. So when I thumb the starter button I get a click from up near the dash. I thinks its a relay nearby? Now Im assuming this is to do with the immobilizer of the bike? Ive got the transponder ring around the ignition so it should read the key? I have both keys and key codes, elect and mech. Is it a case of inputting these codes to make bike turn over?? Any help appreciated.
One of my builds also required the code putting back into the donor screen. I see you got the code card with it, check the manual, you may just have to reenter it using the l/h toggle switch. Good luck...
37.0 is a transponder error, as in the chip in the key. Are the keys matched to the dash? Or do you have keys that came with the ECU? The latter is no good as there is no immo in the ECU.
Thanks for replies. Keys came with the dash, along with key code. The ECU Im using is a new one, never been used before. I've just read up on entering the immob code from the card so will try that first. Along with making sure the transponder ring is very close to ignition key when powering up. Thanks again.
Also make sure the ring is plugged into the right part of the loom....Some people(person) has been know to waste a whole day trying to get a bike started, only to find the ring plugged into the wrong socket.....Some people....:Bag:
Hi dude, Finally getting the old 916/1098 hybrid up and running. Converting from 996 to complete 1098 electrics. Has complete ohlins 1098 front end now but has been sat under a sheet for ages! Finally started fitting all 1098 loom etc so trying to get back up to speed with stuff. Yep will double check im plugged in correctly regarding the transponder ring. Hows your build going? Or should I say builds?? What beast you got now???
Hiya, Sold the 848 evo jobbie. Just finished this bad boy...:Artist: http://ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/tales-from-the-shed.38335/page-4 You still have the big bang?
Ahhh nice. I recall you starting that one a short while ago. If I had one thing I wish I had done differently with my build was 1198 engine first off. I often think about swapping my 1098 for one but cant be bothered now. TBH im ok with 150 horses at the back wheel. Whats yours ride like? I suppose like the 1098 engine but more grunt?
Only had one cheeky little go on it. First proper outing booked at Odiham next month. The MTS1200 is quite refined compared to the 1098, lots of power, less raw and factory wet slipper. I'm starting to think I have the bikes the wrong way around. Mr Angry 1098SF conversion would prob be better on track and the light clutched, gentleman's ride, better for the road...:Banghead:
Hi guys, Just a quick update. Had a another go at this last night and after placing the transponder ring next to the ignition key no more codes when turning the key. So that simple. Bike now turning over etc. :sunglasses: Now I can get on with a new fuel line and mounting the rad.
