so far they are only capping new customers but have stated they will be dropping everyone to the capped upload. They can't afford to be so cheap and provide top speeds so they've chosen to cap upload speeds
Cheers for that. Looks like i'm ok for now on my package. I didn't realise Plusnet was owned by BT either! No complaints at the moment though so will be interesting to see what the market is like when I come to the end of my contract....
It's a weird one as they are owned by BT but run separately. It's because of the rent BT charges for the lines that they are capping speeds to keep the price low. It appears they don't even get mates rates from their owner. I've just got fibre to the area and being in IT, did my research and ended up with BT on a half price for 12 month deal. Will shop around again when it finishes but have always been extremely happy with BT's speed and reliability. Truly unlimited and no throttling or bandwidth control.
If you have sky sports package you can op for a BT sport's package, £9.99 for first 3 months then moves to 19.99 but when I rang in to cancel the BT package on the 3rd mth they continued the 9.99 deal, I have found that do not run you TV packages online or use the chat line, pick up the phone to ask nicely, tell them you cannot afford to continue at the new high price and you should be successful most of the time, I have just got a 2TB HD box FOC because I told them that the chat system isn't working on my tablet, phone the number that's next to the chat number as it's the team that is specifically trained to keep you as their customer!!!! Yes I fight to save every penny I can as I work too hard to overpay for the so called luxarys in life!!!!!
