Not model specific but what the hell.....what's the best value breakdown insurance people are using? Never had to use one yet, touch wood, but have heard bad things about some companies, and don't really trust those attached to rider insurance policies I haven't heard of. Anyone had to use one recently and been pleasantly surprised or disappointed?
AA. Been a member for years and have always had great service when I needed it (incl. 3 times in the last 10 years with a motorcycle). I know some will say they're shite, but I can only judge by my own experience.
I've got cover with Bennetts but it's actually provided by the RAC and comes with EU cover. Haven't used it yet but can't see why it would be any worse than going directly through the RAC.
Used to have AA for years, used them a lot but they messed me about once, kept me waiting 6 hours to recover a car. Went RAC and they've been good, used twice so far
I heard that RAC weren't clued up for bikes very well but that was some time ago but obviously it's the bike service I'm interested in. If the AA have provided Jonny with a good service 3 times in the last 10 years, that's good enough for me. Cheers!
RAC could be rubbish for bikes, I've only used them to recover me with a knackered clutch when I knew there was nothing they could do. OK for cars. AA were good, most of the time
Anecdotally I have the impression that AA were in general the best-equipped / most clued-up about bikes.
AA and RAC have about the same for bikess, some specialist trailers and use 3rd party suppliers If you travel in/on any other vehcile get theirs, if not check waht your insurer has, becasue they will probably cover RTA and AA/RAC probably wont..
Cheers guys, went the AA way because of what you've said, they've got the most vans, talk specifically about bikes in their blurb and the price seems about right, I.e., not too cheap! Hope I never need to use them!
