  10. My dad gave me his red and white 1998 R1 a couple of years ago because he can no longer ride it. Bought it for around £4500, about 14/15 years ago. When comparing prices on bike trader, they are going for about that or more (all mileage dependent). I am hoping that in time it might go up in value but not overly fussed if it doesn't.

  11. I wish I had my bought new sp1 Honda. I recon they will go up in value at a steady rate. Don't even ask about the rc30 I sold.

  12. how much for?

  13. Yep - I think a lot of it is luck....for some strange reason my old pre aprc rsv4 factory doesn't seem to budge....theyre still hovering at around 8k for a stocker - I got mine for 7.2k 4 years ago (I was lucky - the guy just didn't need money plus he had in his garage 3 track bikes and 2 other road/sport bikes)....but its had a fair old amount spent on it since though.

My old man's 400/4 looks like it might go north in the future. When I took it down for MOT the mechanic asked if the paint was original which it is plus it only has 6000 miles on the clock and ive not seen another one anywhere near that but then ive not looked for ages either...

My kids now own it, so its more of an investment for them...

  14. It's funny... I was just cruising eBay and noticed the low prices of mt09's! They're alot lot cheaper than I expected.... You can get an almost new one from a garage for about 6k....i thought I got my 1100 evo sp for just over 7k which I though was a bargain....! And thats 6 years old!

  15. I lusted after a 400/4 as a teenager. It's a good looking bike.

  16. Yep.... When my dad passed away a couple of years ago we were cleaning out the garage (a big double garage) which was piled up to the front doors with stuff... It was right at the back with a sheet over it... We thought he sold it years ago... A pleasant surprise...

  17. So is that yours? You don't seem to count it in your bikes?

My dad has a xj600 and a xl125 which are heading my way. I don't count them, the wife does.

  18. In 1980 I bought a new Guzzi LeMans 2 for £2600..........
My mate bought one of the first 200 MHR Ducati..........IIRC cost about £3000.........

Sold my Guzzi in 1989 for approx £1950........
......to get one today in the same condition it looks like £9K.

My mate's MHR was sold around 1985......don't know for how much....
....to get one today in the same condition it looks like £20K.

  19. Not really... My children own. It... We used some of thier savings to buy my two brothers out...
