1199 Slip-on Advice

  1. If/when I change over to an 1199 I'm going to want Termi slip-ons - to me they just make Ducati. Question is, my 899 slip-ons came with an up-map and air filter. Is that not required for the 1199 slip-ons?

Can anyone give me a steer? Are they the same slip-ons if I grab a secondhand bargain?

    Anyone selling any?

    Thanks in anticipation.

  2. 899 and 1199 Termis are the same, umaps are not interchangeable, air filters are the same,1299 exhaust is different but a worthwhile mod as they run bigger headers, you will need the complete 1299 system to fit on the 1199/899.

  3. Air filter and cans are the same (they aren't on the 1299, fitting is different) but the upmap won't be, on the 899 it can only be coded to one install at a time, I think the 1199 can just be uploaded by the dealer but might be worth a check.

You have an 899 and you are going to an 1199?

  4. I'll check with the dealer. So the best bet is to buy another 899 slip-on and then get the up-map elsewhere.

Yes - want to go from 899 to 1199. Think the 1199 will be a classic - Euro4 exhausts and all!!!

  5. I went the other way from 1199 to 899. I swapped my upmap with a member on here and fitted my old cans.

  6. There's normally an up-map or two for sale on ebay for a few hundred quid. You're better off buying a Termi slip-on kit from a 1199 which should have the up-map included with it. Alternatively you could go for a custom map from somewhere like Moto Rapido, a few people would argue this is the better option than the Ducati delivered up-map anyway.

  7. +1
Termi headers, waste of money. Remove the flapper valve from the standard headers, fit your Termi cans, re-map from Moto-Rapido or JHP, away you go.
With an upmap you never know what version it is really until you install it. The early ones were a bit rubbish, Ducati tweaked the later ones.

  8. I went for a full 1299 system they are fatter bore than 1199 system, the cans are made by Remus. I decatted, added a Sprint P08 filter and then Rapid Bike Evo which constainly adjusts the map as you ride.

  9. 1299 pipes on 1199, nice idea. Any dyno numbers, out of interest?

  10. Sorry no figures.

  11. Out of interest why do you think the Termi headers are a waste of money ?

  12. It's good to know the slip ons for the 1199 are the same as the 899. I've seen them on eBay but steered clear thinking they must be different.
Had anyone bought an upmap off eBay? I see a few for around the £150 mark but I'm unsure if they're safe to buy.

  13. Hi guys i have an 1199s which supposed to pump out 195, i put termi end cans on sprint filter and got the bike re-maped by chris at X Bikes he put the tune boy tune and cruise on with the shifter and blipper its absolutely awesome i now have a healthy 185 at the back wheel that is a very smooth curve from start to max, we no his Dyno is reading about 5% low but before he tuned it 165 was what was showing so a nice improvement plus i now have cruise control and a blipper,:grinning: i have had to work a lot lately, so haven't been out much. X Bikes 01945585533 [email protected] in Cambridge area, he can tune most bikes especially MV's he is also very reasonable on servicing give him a try

  14. I like the sound of that. What did it set you back for the Tuneboy all fitted etc?
The cruise control's got to be handy too. Every time I go through road works I wish I had one.

  15. Hi Sam, i was lucky all i had to buy was the tune and cruise key/code which was on special offer which set me back £150, then Chris did all the work setting up the cruise/ blipper/shifter then re-mapping i think if you purchased the blipper/and all the stuff from Tune boy in Aussi they charge around £800 AU dollars (£500) but i already had all the blipper and stuff, Chris then charges you for the dyno time, its best to give him a call and discuss what youv'e got and what you want to achieve, he is a really nice guy that listens rather than tells you what you want,he also knows his stuff

  16. Thanks, Wisbech hey. Not far from my in laws. Makes it nice n easy to nip over there.... Wisbech that is.

  17. When they were tested the was very little performance increase between using them & Termi cans, versus OEM headers & Termi cans. And same for weight saving once flapper removed. I ran this set up on my 1199S.

  18. Any chance of a photo of the cruise control switchgear? Personally not bothered about a blipper - could you have one (cruise) and not the other (blipper)?

  19. Jamie, i have since found out that on the Pani you can actually use the existing bar controls without buying the cruise buttons! as long as you get the tune boy software, i have attached a pic of mine i believe you use the up and menu buttons to activate and +- mph
