1098 1098r And Bayliss Owners Advice Needed

Discussion in '848 / 1098 / 1198' started by ducatidude1098r, Oct 22, 2015.

  1. Is anyone still looking for a 1098R ? There would appear to be a pretty standard red one with good history still available at a car dealer's in Litchfield that has been around for a number of weeks. Asking £14950 but might take an offer. Andy

  2. Sorted!
    Now it's bloody raining!

  6. I love 1098R's me............. That is all. :Woot:

  7. My baby needing a wash but freshly MOT'd today. Forgot how powerful it was and how much it likes to lift the front as I have gone +2 in the rear. Least it sort of sits at 30 now unlike standard gearing.

  8. And 1 more makes 20. Welcome to the (un)official 1098R owners' forum :D. Andy

  9. obscene is already on the list Andy, I think there is another owner lurking on here but I didn't have time to take details/amend list so could well be 20 or more by now.

  10. Andy

  11. did you manage to look under the R to see if the termi rubs the very rear bottom of the belly pan ? Mine rubs where I have circled in third pic, has the dealer filed the bellypan down or have you to enable to pipework to fit, thanks

  12. So I've just tried to take photos with my mobile and failed miserably. I have a full 70mm Termignoni system and the large bend at 90 degrees to the direction of travel has between 5 to 8mm clearance. The pipe that runs parallel to the direction of travel has about 1 to 2mm clearance and the carbon is stained from the heat. I have added several layers of heat resistant self adhesive aluminium tape to try and mitigate the heat. Worked on my 853 (748R) with a 54mm race system. Andy

  13. I have a 70mm system on mine. Dunno if it rubs on the belly pan. It's got track fairings on at the mo' so I'm not overly bothered.

  14. Where did you get your track fairings Ricky? I'm tempted to take my nice originals off and stick some beaters on for track days.

  15. They were on it when I bought it so I don't know the make, sorry. Original bodywork all wrapped in bubble wrap in the garage.

  16. I have some lying about that came with my 1098R. The beauty of them is that they are "pre-beaten" :Woot:.

Surplus to requirements as I've converted back to a road bike from a track day toy.
