  7. Sounds like Ducati John would be a great choice.
On the other hand, doing your own belts isn't so very difficult.
It's just a matter of being patient and methodical.
Get yourself some belts from @Exige , download the Gates app, check out the ExactFit video, set aside an afternoon and save yourself some dosh.

  8. Had belts changed, valves checked & adjusted and coolant changed at DMC Preston, supplied the belts myself, cost around £200.00, thought this was quite reasonable?? Friendly & good service.

  11. Make sure you rotate the adjustable pulley the correct way when tensioning the belts!
If you do it the wrong way, the belt runs can touch, with disastrous consequences.
Otherwise it's just a matter of being patient and methodical.
    Enjoy...

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  12. Doing mine as I type.......

  13. What torque on the Fuji nut adjustment roller thing?

  14. Iirc, pretty tight without heaving on it. ;)
The properties of the Fuji nuts are such that they don't need torquing up really hard to stop them coming undone, especially if they are unused.

  15. Getting the vertical belt right took a few goes, and there are 2 TDC's too. Learning all the time.

  16. if you get stuck gimme a shout , did you read the pm from last week ?

  17. Yes mate I did and thanks for the offer. I've ordered the belts from exige so should be with me sometime this week. I can't use the bike at the moment as I haven't taxed it yet and the rear tyre looks like a slick so I'm just getting it ready atm for this year. I'll supply plenty of hobnobs when the time comes so you won't go hungry!

  18. 2 tdc's ?? :Wideyed: That's not what the YouTube clips says. That's slightly concerning :Nailbiting::Nailbiting:

How did you get on in the end @Cream_Revenge ??

  19. Well, she starts....

Lined up the horizontal as per vids with main shaft dot matching the case and did the tension on the horizontal no problem.

If you watch the vid he turns the engine BACK 1/4(ish) turn to get vertical at TDC. Now, I had a chopstick (needs must) in the cylinder to spot TDC and turned the engine FORWARDS as I read somewhere you shouldn't turn it back. I had the bike in 6th as I don't have the tool. Thing is, after a 1/4 turn forward I had a TDC, another 1/2 turn (3/4 turned in total) I had another TDC. To me, 3/4 forward is same as 1/4 backward.

I had loads of fun getting 99mhz on the vertical, every time I turned the engine to TDC again it seemed to change. Eventually it seemed more constant if I did every other TDC, the one equivalent of a 1/4 back.

That's what I found anyway. Maybe I've gone insane. Maybe I'm right and somebody clever can explain what I found and confirm my sanity.
