As much as i am a fan of Ducati's. the news that Ducati Thailand are producing a run of Mike Hailwood Scramblers to me is a low point. Even though his widow had given the green light i just wish they would let the poor guy rest in peace and not keep using him as a marketing tool to flog bikes. Yes he won the TT on a ducati, but time moves on and if it hadn't been for Sports motorcycles it would never have happened. Personally i think the bike looks tarty.
I like it. It has a similar colour scheme to my local Indian restaurant. I like the food, therefore I like this bike...makes me hungry. Mr Pavlov me.
I had some food in Florida and they asked if I wanted Steve McQueens sauce on it... I just couldn't get the "There's something about Mary" film out of my head...., so I just had salt n Pepper (push it...)
Went to buy some milk last year wearing a Steve McQueen T-shirt. The young girl behind the till asked who was on my T-shirt and didn't have a clue when I told her, when I tried to help with "he's in the film Great Escape" I got the blankest look ever. So If anything's marketed as a "Steve McQueen" version assume they are aiming solely at older people.....join that queue and it must lead to something as cool as a Honda Jazz.... As to a MH Scrambler....surely an Iannone Scrambler would be much, much cooler.....or failing that a Stoner, Bayliss, etc. If they want to do a different colour scheme then just do a Tricolour.
