Hi guys..been riding for 40+ years (on and off....but not much"off")....but never had a Duke as the feedback from owners I meet is not always positive, also a local dealer told me he would never take one in PX as spares could take forever to reach him etc.Thing is...I love the looks of all the sportbikes and am looking for advice on which models to go for -or avoid.I do not want to spend a fortune so am checking out older models like the 900ss and so on.Any ideas or info would be appreciated
Hi Den,i've been riding since 1961 and never had a ducati until 2011.Always thought they were for oddballs' bought a 750ssie and am really bitten by the bug.I get no problem with parts and the air cooled bikes are relatively easy to work on.
wow ! 50 years before you bought a Duke..still,best not to rush into these things.Yeah, same here.Started with BSA..AJS..Ariel etc..last bikes were 1200 and 1250cc Jap monsters..but now I fancy a sleek Italiano,so beautiful I could hang it on the wall like a masterpiece.I am lookin' ...seriously !
Welcome Den - good luck with your search, keep us updated, there will be plenty of advice good and otherwise :Angelic:
No Denis, all newcomers are Dave! Have a chat with Simon at Ducati Stoke, he gets lots of tasty new and used machines in and has access to the Manchester stock too
Welcome, I have a 1998 model 748 , had it six years and never had a problem with spairs, not that I have needed many other than service items. Steve
Me too... Just about to get my 3rd hyper (1100evo sp) the last 2 were trouble free.... Just expect to re ace lots of fixings.... Proper shite. Replace with stainless and titanium and powder coat anything they've done as it'll probably peel as soon as it hits fresh air...
Thanks again guys..and Nige,I pass Ducati Stoke quite a lot and am planning a visit just as soon as I get rid of this horrible 'flu bug currently devastating my household !
