Big shout out to Mr Exige and Exact-Start cable kits. Fitted a lead set this morning (no fuss), pushed the start button and she caught first time. Never done that for me before and even with warm engine it would reluctantly fire up after sluggish cranking. This has really transformed the bike and I would highly recommend the solution to anyone concerned about inconsistent starting.
I've had a set too on a 999s which I only had very briefly it started on the button completely changed the bike! Got an 848 now so will definitely be getting a set for that too, I picked the set up and met mr Exige himself really nice bloke and knows his stuff!
I have to say I haven't got the Exactfit cables on my bike as I had already upgraded my cables before the kit became available, that said I think Exige needs congratulating for the effort he has gone to to develop these kits to the high quality he has. Well done. Steve
Does you L-Ion Battery manufacturer specify any modifications to the motorcycle charging circuit before fitting?
You mean it gets even better? Agreed, top bloke for putting the time in and coming up with a fix for an annoying niggle. I am riding to the IOM TT this year and frankly the only real concern was the "will it - won't it start" routine. Great job
I have a Shido lithium battery it is a LiFeP04 type these do not have the catching fir issues that some Litihium have some early batteries did not have am internal balance circuit in to charge all the lithium batteries eveny so early batteries could charge erratically. if you go Lithium they are very light and brilliant at delivering high cranking power but make sure it has internal balance circuit these are usually identified by the fact they have a button on the top to let you know the stae of charge of the battery. Since fittng mine it has been fine the only issue is the batt display on the bike says it only charges at 13.4 volts which is not enugh but when tested using a multimeter the charging is spot on at 13.9 - 14.3 volts so I cam only assume the dash disply is not accurate
