1200 DVT Extenders For Navihalter

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Twin4me, Mar 13, 2016.

  1. I was going to order some of Vau's designs for my Navilhalter. I fitted it this weekend and I'm struggling to adjust the screen and remove the Sat Nav easily so bring it a little further out would ease this issue.

These are the ones Vau designed:
"It is solid, and it is cheaper. You just need 4 Screws."
    Adapter (62WF7N2LE) by Varadero

Does anyone else want to order one at the same time, if I can get another or order or two then I can avoid the very expensive shipping cost! I'm happy to post them out to people FOC.

PS I went back to the guy that makes the Navihalter as he had already sent me this message when I advised him of the issue:

    "We have a similar solution.
We offer them only on special request, because this extension has its drawbacks.
The Navi away. Thus relatively far from the mounting axis Thereby, a slight vibration to vibrate!
So be careful-every change has consequences!

I sent an email think he would send me a pair, instead I got an offer to buy them for another €20!!!

I know Vau's ones are a similar cost but I'm more inclined to pay for his efforts, rather than something that should have been included in the first place.

It should end up give a similar effect to Gianni's solution.

  2. So what's the total cost !

  3. €20 for each of us... £15.50
Or £13 if you are prepared to chose 'extended service' and wait until about 6 April for delivery (rather than March 22nd)

  4. I'm in £15:.50 [emoji106]

  10. I've ordered the 5 sets, the price ended up as £17.23 each as I had to pay in euros.
    Hopefully that's OK.
Please send me a PM and I'll give you my paypal details or bank account, whichever you prefer.

  11. Pm sent

  12. I got Vau's part (thanks so much Vau!) and fitted it today. Fits perfectly and makes it much easier to adjust the screen and remove the Satnav. It does make the sat nav sit above the Pikes peak screen, but TBH I will using the taller screen when I tour and use the sat Nav.

  13. Looks great, did you receive the ordered ones !

  14. Got my order from Twin4me - many thanks for the speedy service. Fitted today. All ok. Like you said Twin4me, Satnav sits very marginally (used centre hole) above my carbon screen, but like you, will use my standard screen when touring and using the Satnav, so not an issue. Cheers Nick

  15. Received mine today, great service from a very trustworthy forum member [emoji106]

  16. What's the opinion of them guys which is best? My bike gets delivered on the 23rd April and I will give the dealer my Navihaulter and 590L to fit but wondering if I now need these also to make it work properly??

  17. Brakes508....
Gotta be honest, I havn't used mine since fitting. I've a Garmin 390 and I had it fitted on the Navihalter without these extenders initially. All fine with that, it just made operating the screen height adjuster a tad more difficult as you couldn't grasp the grip part that easily. The extenders just give you more room to grip the screen adjuster by making the satnav sit slightly further forward, so you can get your hand underneath easier. The extenders allow plenty of adjustment. Not sure if any of the others have found anything different whilst riding - hope to test mine this weekend. Hope that helps...

  18. Likewise I've found it a lot easier to operate the screen and remove the Sat Nav (Zumo 660).
You can easily retrofit these yourself.
Navihalter actually realise there is an issue and you can request some similar metal extension units from them (see other thread). They charge for these at a similar cost to the 3D print ones and it annoys me that they don't supply them as standard.

  19. Received mine today although I'd prefer the extensions to be made out of metal due to the brutality of the roads & dirt roads i use.

  20. Ducati and brutal off rd's !! sounds like it's going to end in [emoji26]
