£100 Paid Market Research (birmingham) - Seeking Owners Of 'roadster' Motorbikes (over 500cc)

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by MRFGR, Apr 4, 2016.

  1. Get off your high horse, we are having a sense of humour moment here. My English may not be perfect but perhaps that is why I ended up as a lowly aircraft engineer and not someone who engages with the general public.

  2. Can you look at the first post and tell me where the word naked was used? He does say roadster, but not naked. I suggest that you might look the pillock as you seem to be inserting words.

  3. Post number 3 he clarified

  4. Would my type 14 AJS count as a naked bike?

  5. Bet he is doing some research into what type of owners you all are
Be nice we don't want to make the wrong impression of being Ducati slobs I mean snobs :)

  6. Ducati pedantic, smart-arse mo-fo's is closer I think!! :-D (Said with deep affection BTW!) :)

  7. It would be interesting to know what the researchers are 'researching'. We should be told! LOL ;-)

  8. Where people (and bikes) live?

  9. My first guess is that the objective will be working out what marketing messages and promo crap is required to get naked bike owners in the uk to buy a scrambler. Or if it is Triumph, a Street / Speed Triple.

But I would be attending the focus group in the unrealistic hope that they will be showing some sketches of naked bike designs. After all, he does say they are researching designs and concepts for naked bikes.

Would be good if someone could attend and let us know what happened.

  10. As far as I can see this company does the commercial legwork gathering and collating market research for company clients. They will have a brief on the type of information the client is looking and the questions they must ask of their sample consumers but they may not necessarily know why the client wants this information or what product planning they have in mind. And I don't expect they're likely to tell us who the client is either. :Shifty:

I'm afraid it doesn't necessarily mean that Ducati are planning a 1299 Streetfighter and want to know how many people would trade in their Speed Triples for one. :(. But you never know. :)

  11. They can't withhold the sponsor of the project. There will be a best moment to reveal the info, sometimes at the end of the focus group to avoid tainted bias responses

  12. I know that there have been a few of these post here in the past.

One Ducati rival company did an all expenses paid to Europe for Ducati Forum members to discuss a new product. All under NDA.

  16. Why wasn't I invited? I'd have liked that.
Though generally, the last consumers they want are more marketing people. It normally debars you from offering an opinion.

  17. They were looking for Multistrada owners. I didn't go, and I think it was KTM.

  18. Ah right. Yes, I wouldn't have been much help there.
